My transition journey started long before I took any medical steps. From a very young age, I knew I was different, I never felt at home in my body or the expectations placed on me. It was confusing and lonely for me.
The real turning point came when I finally admitted to myself who I was. After that, everything changed. I started with small things: growing out my hair, changing how I dressed, and experimenting with makeup in private. Each little step gave me a taste of freedom and peace I had never felt before.
When I began hormone therapy, it felt like my body was finally catching up with who I had always been inside. The changes were slow but beautiful, softer skin, curves forming, my face becoming more feminine. But the biggest change wasn’t physical. It was the relief from gender dysphoria and the joy of seeing myself in the mirror and finally recognizing the woman looking back.
Transition hasn’t been easy. There were difficult conversations with family, moments of doubt, and the challenge of rebuilding my life. But it was worth every tear and every struggle. Today, I’m happier, more confident, and more at peace than I’ve ever been.
Changing my gender was the best decision I’ve ever made. I went from surviving to truly living.
If you’re on your own journey, know that you’re not alone. It gets better. 🌸
