crcscentalpha:
“it usually is. but since we’re stuck here, y’know might as well make it home.” he says while being not too keen to elaborating. he thought living in the bayou wasn’t so bad but with the werewolves being cast out left a bitter taste in his mouth. “i know not all of us are city people, i wouldn’t blame you. it can get pretty overwhelming sometimes.” although it rare that he’d feel that way mostly since the last few years of his life was spent in the bayou.
Luke’s still new to learning exactly what the politics and social divides of the city were but he's trying. He so used to free reign in his magic growing up in his coven but then again, Luke doesn't use magic unless it's completely needed. “Why are you stuck here, by the way? If you don't mind me asking that is?" At least toe Luke's knowledge but not experience, werewolves were the stronger species. Something really major must have happened for the vampires to be ruling. "I've got newcomer written across my forehead, haven't I?" He shakes his head before offering his hand in a formal greeting. "I'm Luke."
nolayolo19:
“We do,” Josh attempted to argue. “But can you blame me for being on edge?” It wasn’t that Josh cared about who came to the city, it was more about who was going to get with the program and who wasn’t. He didn’t want to see a fight break out no matter what side he was on. He let out a sigh, shoving his own hands into his jacket pockets. “I guess we can leave the serious talk for another occasion.”
“No.” He states simply. “I think being slightly on edge backs you smart. But the constant worry is dangerous territory, Josh. You don’t want to go down that rabbit hole." Though the whole sectional divide of the species was a confusing part of NOLA politics Luke didn't exactly understand, what he did understand that the influx of newcomers meant that some established order could be shaken. Though what bugged him was the no magic part. Witches should be allowed to express themselves. He just wouldn't let that jeopardize being a friend with Josh. Josh being a vampire wasn't a problem for Luke and he hoped Luke being a vampire wasn't a problem for him. Luke just tended to side with the witches because that's who he was. "Josh, you're all good, bud.I promise. I was just messin' with ya." He gave him a reassuring smile. Josh made New Orleans an easier place for Luke to reside in. "What you up to? Haven't seen you for a few days. How's it going?"
josettexlaughlin:
“I mean after I left the coven when you were children, but if we’re really wanting to air out that dirty laundry when Beacon turned into hell on earth, then…” Jo’s statement trailed off, knowing there wasn’t a need to elaborate on that horrific night. “I don’t know what Liv has or hasn’t told you and truthfully, I’ve never given her a reason to confide in me.” She blew that chance last time and now that what’s left of the Parker siblings are in the same city, Jo wanted to try again. “I merged with Kai, Luke. If you automatically think you’re confused why I’m still alive, you can imagine how I feel.”
“You don’t owe me an explanation, Josette. You made a choice regarding what you wanted to do with your life and I commend that.” It’s true, Luke did. But after Kai slaughtered the rest of their siblings, Luke didn’t know it at the time, but as he grew up Jo leaving became a part of how he is. How he’s so reserved to do magic often. Even why he and Liv are closer than most twins. It’s because they survived together and Liv was all he had. “I’m not in any position to judge. Liv and I left too.” But he figured his sister already knew that. His mood did change now though at the newly revealed information. He’s silent. Dumbfounded. Confused. His eyes widen. “-How is that even possible?” Luke knew everything about how the Merge worked. He had to learn it all. He knew the ins and outs of his coven like the back of his hand. He never knew of any possibility of them both surviving. It was either one or the other. “I...I wasn’t aware you had your magic. And Kai...” He's thinking about his father now. The rest of his coven. If Kai finally was the leader of the Gemini, he had to do something about it. “How did Kai get out?” He has loads of questions because that’s what Luke did to get the answers he needed.
“At this rate, some of us might have to move to accommodate all the newcomers.” Josh, of course, understood why so many people were flocking to New Orleans but in his mind, it also didn’t take a rocket science to figure out that this was only going to cause trouble not just with the tension between the supernatural species already in New Orleans but he also figured it’d only be a matter of time before hunters began to follow others into the city.
Luke can see both sides but really, he’s not exactly jumping for joy being here. He was here mainly because of Liv with here and because of his connection with Davina. In fact, he’d pretty much decided against it but Liv talked him into giving this place a shot. “I think we’ll be just fine, Josh. The city’s big enough to handle us.” Luke spoke. His hand in his jacket pockets as he looks at the only real friend he’d made around here. “And to think, I thought we had a good thing going on here, pal.” It’s a joke but not everyone gets his sense of humor. That and the fact he’d said it with an all too serious expression.
All he had wanted was a quiet fucking moment with his cup of coffee. But of course, it was too much to hope for. Mere seconds after he had settled down at one of the corner tables outside of a cafe, a puppy which had been hovering about, one which he assumed belonged to one of the other customers, began to bark madly looking directly at him. Seriously? “Am I going to have to compel a dog to shut the fuck up?” he muttered, obvious irritation colouring his tone.
Such anger, Luke thought. And all over a dog? He thought it was such a waste of energy. “If a dog makes you that angry, I guess you aren’t much of a people person either, hmm?” Luke questions from a table not so far by. He doesn’t use his magic often but if it’ll calm this guy down, it’ll have to be. Thankful, Luke was good with spells on animals or revolving around them. He levitates a stick to distract and lure it away and it silences it a lit. “Better?” He rose an eyebrow as he goes back to his own coffee. Ignoring the fact he’d just used magic for something as stupid as this. Whoever this vampire was, Luke just thought he needed to chill out.
bloodxorbourbon:
“Limited edition; i’m like an unaged bourbon that you just can’t get rid of…-unfortunately for you I don’t bat for the other team but feel free to look and stare.” he added sarcastically of course, he was amused was about the only reason he’d kept the conversation going. “Here.” he handed it over. “Enjoy the party.”
“Can’t blame a guy for trying? But that’s a shame. ” Luke walks over and takes it from him. He’s not even much of a bourbon guy but Damon had practically challenged him without the words in his mind. He takes a swing and turns back to his newfound vampire bourbon enthusiast. “What are you doing out here all alone then?”
abornxfighter:
“Such a dick..-” she said jokingly of course, not taking anymore time before she moved in to hug him tightly. “I missed you way too much but you had fun right?” Liv hoped the answer was yes because that would make it way more easy to accept that they’d been apart as long as they had. “I know, trust me if i’d known before hand I wouldn’t have told you to come here considering we can’t use magic.” She shrugged. “He is a dick so that can be your first shot.”
Luke can handle her insults. They’re harmless. He hugs her back instantly with a grin. He’d missed his twin more than anything. She was his best friend and doing things without her often felt a little foreign. “I don’t know if my travelling was for fun exactly?” He chuckled. “More like a knowledge quest.” And as he says that he’s thinking could he sound any nerdier if he tried after saying something like a knowledge question. “What do you mean we can’t use magic?” Luke’s a little baffled. He’s done his research on the witches factions in New Orleans. The connection to the ancestors. He knew it all and wanted to see it all for himself. “Screw Marcel. I can only imagine the vampires feel threatened by the witches. He should be careful. A witch uprise against the vampires would be deadly.”
Are you afraid to play chicken with someone who might actually beat you?
josettexlaughlin:
“The name only further tempts me.” Oblivious as to who she was speaking with, Jo turned around to find her younger brother doing his best to cope with the same awkward air floating between them as she felt with Olivia. There was a pause the woman found the right words, “Listen, Luke, I’ve been beating around the bush with you and Liv and we never really talked about what happened after I left.”
Honestly, Luke’s not really knowing what to expect. Jo was still a blur to him. It’s like talking to a photograph or memory. It’s weird. Especially given the circumstances of their separation in the first place. It’s a lot to handle but Luke’s usually cool demeanour was at least working for him now. He raised his eyebrows in curiosity. “That doesn’t sound concerning at all. What happened?” There hadn’t been much speaking between the two of them. Luke took off to learn because that’s what he did best. It just wasn’t with the Gemini.
“Hey stranger..-” she gave a smile at the sight of her twin, as great as travelling was it was nice to finally get to see him again. “You could look a little happier to see me.”
@geminiled
“I could do that..” Luke tilted his head to the side. “But where's the fun in that?” With Luke's on travels being done in learning about the different forms of magic across the globe for covens whilst officially cutting ties with the Gemini Coven, he still feels a little weird about it. That and his best friend, his twin sister, he hadn't seen in a while in person now. "Kidding. I've missed you but this place seems like a disaster in the waiting. I'll have to take a shot everytime someone talks smack about that Marcel guy."
bloodxorbourbon:
“Well I don’t like to brag…-wait nope I really do.” he added sarcastically, offering a fake smile, then again he wasn’t sure he’d had a genuine smile in the past year. “Pretty? That’s really insulting, i’m hurt.” Damon chuckled some, before shrugging at the guys next statement. “Don’t take it personally but I’m not a fan of most witches either…most of them suck.” he admitted honestly, he was drunk there wasn’t a need to lie. “Then I suddenly like her way more than you, New Orleans is a party…minus the rules and the guy in charge.”
Damon so far sounds like someone he needs to keep around. He’s not exactly sure why and what for other than the fact he’s funny and he finds him hot but he figures that’s enough. “You always a barrel of laughs, Damon or is this limited edition sort of thing?” Luke finds him ridiculous but in the best possible way. “And the pretty was a compliment. I don’t usually just tell the drunken vampire guy he’s hot, now do I? I’m not the forward or anything but if your ego is that bruised, I can say you are my type. Dark hair, all types of dangerous.” He continues to shake his head before walking closer. “No offence taken. My coven is a train wreck” And that’s Luke’s honest opinion. “Pfttt” he scoffed and furrows his brows. “I’m here with you, aren’t I? I can party.” He almost feels like it’s a challenge. “You going to share that bourbon? Or you going to let me suffer?
“Okay, it’s official. I’m taking up permanent residence on Bourbon Street.” A full year of equal work and pleasure became an addictive paradise that wouldn’t end just because she was finally sticking to one place. Jo’s gaze lifted, scanning the beautiful building surrounding her. The party life was practically in the name of the street and what more could she ask for from New Orleans?
“How delightful,” Luke commented back to her. Luke's not too great at the whole party thing but he enjoys him and finds fun where he can. Usually with a guy honestly. "The name kind of speaks for all the shennagins that goes on here, huh? It's fitting." He cracked a joke to lighten any tension the two might have between them.
RIP Parker Family.
bloodxorbourbon:
“Right. Sorry Luke Skywalker…-” he chuckled before downing whatever was left of his flask. “Damon, stranger works too because i’ve been called way worse.” He wasn’t nice too often and maybe it was only because the guy had caught him in a moment where he was thinking about the one person who made him better. “Nope, Marcel seems like a bit of a dick though. So I’m glad about that…you?”
“I think I prefer Prince Arthur. But part of me feels you’ve got a lot of nicknames up your sleeve.” Though this isn’t exactly how he saw his time being spent, he doesn’t particularly hate the company of his semi-drunken vampire. “Nice to meet you, Damon. The mystery is pretty hot. I could keep to stranger if that’s what you want. I’d advise against it. But for a drunk, you aren’t repulsive. You’re a pretty guy.” Luke’s actually strangely into this. He had nothing better to do. “I’ve heard. I’m not too keen on most vampires. You know, witch and all.” He dropped it in, finding no reason to lie. “I’m a tourist, I guess. I’m from Portland. I’m meeting up with my twin. This whole thing to come here was her idea.”
