âIâm glad I did then,â Arista offered with a smile. âEven if six sisters is a bit overwhelming at times.â
âI can only imagine.â Gemmaâs eyes fluttered up, as if whatever she was thinking about was written in the sky. âThough, at times my family was... a circus.â
seriously, i donât think thereâs any right way to do anything apart from if youâre just being you; then itâs a sincere situation.
bubbly-risâ:
Arista smiled and nodded at the womanâs words. âOh, I understand. Sometimes chosen family is better than blood family.â
âI think most of the time thatâs the case,â she shrugged. âYou just got lucky.â
shenziwallaceâ:
âCheck the receipt, she once wrote in on the back of mine with the words call me next to it. Sheâs a nice person so if youâre interested, go for it.â Shenzi laughed. âIf I get it right, I will. Maybe in time for Christmas.â
Gemma turned the receipt over and was pleasantly surprised to find the same message scrawled on the back. âI donât know if I can do nice.â She grinned, placing a warm hand on Shenziâs upper arm. âYou can do anything.â
âListen my head hurts and all of this noise isnât really helping. So if you want to talk can we go somewhere more quiet.â
Gemma opened her mouth to say something, but instead shut it, nodded, and grabbed Vitaniâs arm, leading her off of the dance floor and into the clubâs bathroom. She assumed the muffled base was better than the wild party going on outside. âI said,â she let out a sigh, âI love your dress.â
shenziwallaceâ:
âYou have now officially been lured into the trap of a farmers market. Thereâs no going back but itâs not a bad thing anyway.â Shenzi laughed. Thatâs why she brings extra money with her everytime she comes here, she always ends up buying more than she intended to. âDoes that freebie include her number?â She nodded at the suggestion she was given. âIâll take note of that. Thanks.â
âI love it here.â Gemma lifted one of the apples, inspecting it. âNot that I know of, unless she carved it on one of these. Should I go back?â She nodded, âYouâre welcome. Youâll have to invite me over to try it.â
shenziwallaceâ:
âI made the mistake of believing that bags were enough when I first went shopping here. Iâve used this-â Shenzi dragged her trolley bag in front of her. âEver since. Maybe you should get your own.â, she advised. âBrussel sprouts, cauliflower, apples and butternut squash which I have never tried in my life. I donât even know what iâll do with all these but figuring it out is part of the fun.â
âMaybe next time. To be honest, I wasnât planning on finding all of this stuff! I only came here for a pumpkin and some honey.â She flashed a sly grin, âAnd of course, to talk to the cute girl from the apple stand. I think she has a thing for me. Gave me a couple freebies.â Gem looked over Shenziâs findings. âI bet you could make a delicious warm salad with that. Maybe put some candied walnuts on top.â
bubbly-risâ:
âYeah, I guess that makes sense,â Arista replied, smiling. She knew that even all of her sisters probably felt differently than she did and they had the same parents. âI think it would be intriguing for a day. But ultimately, I think Iâd rather have my sisters.â
âThatâs not to say I donât have a big family,â she said, almost interrupting herself. âItâs just more of a chosen family than a blood family. And I like it better than way.â
shenziwallaceâ:
It might be weird for some people to see Shenzi in the farmerâs market but going there to buy the things she needed to restock her pantry was a normal thing for her. She preferred buying things straight from the source after all. As she was done with her shopping, she noticed the blonde having difficulty with her purchases and was only thinking about helping until she was sure that she needed it. âThis is why I bring my own trolley bag when I go here.â, she said as she picked up the things that fell.
Gemma held her arms out to take the things Shenzi grabbed. âI brought some bags, but it looks like they werenât enough. What did you find? Looks like a lot of really nice veggies! Fall produce is my favorite. Pumpkin everything!â
Gemma fumbled through the farmers market, two canvas totes and both arms filled with various gourds, corns, and other autumn findings. âYeah, I got it, thanks though,â she nodded, just as she tripped over an extension cord, the bounty in her arms tumbling to the pavement. â... Maybe I could use some help.â
bubbly-risâ:
âSeven, yeah,â Arista nodded. How they managed to all be girls, sheâd never understand. âItâs hard for me to even think about being an only child. I have no earthly idea what thatâs like.â
âI was an only child once,â she said, a bite at her bottom lip suppressing a small grin. âI think the experience really depends on who your parents are.â
bubbly-risâ:
âOoh, brownies are good too. I can accept that,â Arista chuckled. She broke out into a smile and nodded in response to the womanâs question. âYep! Iâm Arista. 3rd of the Triton girls.â
Gemma laughed with her, though she wasnât sure the two were on the same page. âNumber three, huh? How many are there again? Seven?â
