i think about adam devine as kelvin and my original opinion that him being included in the main cast was slightly goofy (not necessarily in a bad way, just that it was a strange role to see him in) a lot. it’s definitely my own fault for how i judge his previous filmography w/o ever having watched it, but i guess through cultural osmosis i just never really viewed him as a very serious actor/comedian? meanwhile he’s been on this show for six years going toe to toe with fucking edi patterson and danny mcbride and like john goodman. and maybe this kind of disparity is purposeful? because i do think that the perception i had of him as an actor when i first started watching the show really REALLY did a ton of legwork in immediately making me buy into him as a much younger sibling who feels a bit out of place and like he has something to prove constantly when around the rest of his family. and just the fact that a lot of his most popular work is from the 2010s lol. it just gives performatively masculine youngest brother youth pastor yk?
