She’d already taken too long for her liking getting used to simple things like walking and eating and appearing human enough to pass as a fellow human to strangers, now this was just getting ridiculous. She hadn’t expected being human to be so hard. 

“You make everything look so easy.” She commented, giving the slightest of smiles back. “…does it ever get easier? The…the loss of those close to you.” She’d been programmed on how to help deal with grief, especially seeing as she had been around scientists who had lost their families, but it was different when she was actually going through it firsthand. 

             ❛ yeah. it does get better. the key is to not rush yourself. you don’t need to force yourself to learn. it comes gradually. ❜ he nodded, watching her with a reassuring smile. he tapped his fingers against the barrel of his gun, thinking idly to himself. he tried his best to be reassuring, but it wasn’t always his strong suit. ❛ you don’t need to compare the way we handle our losses. i’ve been dealing with emotions much longer than you have. i just have... more experience. you don’t. but there’s no shame in that. and even so, no matter how long you’ve been a synth, you most likely will always feel this grief. it’s how it works, unfortunately. ❜

  Eddie was a little surprised when he mentioned homophobia and racism. After all, only his false memories even understood such things. He could remember speaking out against them on his old radio show. Or… whoever that man was. The one he inherited the mind of. “No. Not quite. You don’t get a lot of that stuff anymore. At least not here.” He paused. “I guess it’s a little like racial issues. Except people have a little more than skin color to hate other people for now.” Best to leave it at that. Wyatt telling him that his name suited him did make him smile a little. He had picked it, so he really was happy to hear the stranger liked it. “Thanks… I… Uh…” He wasn’t sure what to say. “Wyatt is a nice name too. Never heard it before.”
