and i was more stressed about getting a chair

uh so in science class today my usual teacher had to leave for some reason, so i was in another class

that teacher had us get chairs, but i was tired so i wasn’t fast enough to get the chairs easily reached

so i walked around the entire classroom with my heavy ass backpack and everyone was looking at me and omg it was bad

then i finally found a chair, but it was all the way across the room from a place i could sit, so i had to drag all my stuff

and the chair didn’t have anything to stop it from screeching so it just screeched the whole time

eughhh i cried (i’m glad i have friends tho they helped a lot)

i’m okay now though

the tumblr/tiktok definition of punk is soooo dorky… like sorry if u dont like it but the majority of the punks you meet offline are going to be assholes. there may not be a true definition of what a punk is but by and large we are crass and rude and loud and markedly not soft… like u can still be soft but to act like a punk is to forgo that. and just like… being a cutesy dork in a mosh is an easy way to get shoved out of it cos no one wants to bruise yr lily-white skin. and as someone who rly enjoys being a punk, i dont care to associate with mother mother fans with alien patches they bought at urban outfitters

also i hate hate hate how they try to define away nazis and sharps and shit like. the way you get rid of them is by kicking them in the teeth. like it or not but that skinhead nazi is still a punk. the dude who calls people faggots is still a punk. abusers are still punks. if you want them out of your circles, you have to make them afraid to be there and they arent afraid of “radical softness” or whatever.

the point of this post isnt to take some kind of “hardercore than thou” stance, as someone said so well in the tags. the point is that when you interact with ppl who base their personality around being rough you cannot expect them to be soft and you cant define that out of them. punk is not a movement, it has no core tenets. its barely a cohesive culture. so while many punks are radical leftists, others are simply angry ppl who dont care about politics. and since some of you are wondering about the bit abt sharps, its abt the fact that they arent the woke crusaders you may expect. theyre usually white dickheads who wanna pick fights with other white dickheads instead of actually supporting poc.

also, if it wasnt clear from what im saying: im a communist and a mixed asian/hawaiian/mexican woman. the point of this post isnt to “gatekeep” the culture, as a few of u have accused me of, or even to scare you away. what im saying is that defanging punk is an easy way to let right wingers take advantage of you. be soft with your friends, be kind to kind people, but dont forget to give violence a chance.
