“I don’t really need a reason to visit you, do I?” Hiro laughed, offering the flowers out to her, “I wanted to come steal you away for dinner! Flowers and dinner are a good way to start the weekend, don’t you think?”

“Awe! Really? That’s so sweet!“ Kodi cheered, as she accepted the flowers, “That’s so nice, Hiro!“ 

Her coworker giggled, but Kodi ignored her, “So hey, I’m off in like, five minutes? So dinner sounds awesome! Where do you wanna go?”

“Ah, I see. Thank you,” he offered the other employee a sweet smile before walking away. Hiro crossed the gap between himself and Kodi quite quickly, leaning down so the bouquet brushed her cheek.

“A beautiful princess like yourself shouldn’t be doing hard labor on such a lovely day~” He teased.

Kodi jumped, but before she had the chance to get upset, she recognized the voice, and quickly turned back around, “Hiro?”

“Hey Hiro! What are you doing here?“ She asked, before her eyes turned down to the thing that had brushed against her face, “And what’s with the flowers?“

The bouquet in Tadahiro’s hand was beautiful. Of course it was, he’d spent nearly half an hour in the flower stall picking out each flower with the help of the girl working there. It had to be beautiful, to even come close to the lovely princess he was visiting today.

He strode into Boutique Couture with them in hand, and bypassed all the shelves and racks of clothes to find the register. He was a little disappointed that who he was looking for wasn’t currently manning it, but he approached anyways.

“Hello, I’m looking for Miss Kodi. Is she in today?”

The girl behind the counter looked up, and was about to automatically reply, when she saw his face and instantly backpeddled. She blushed and pushed a lock of her hair behind her face, “You’re like... looking for Kodi? She’s in the back hanging up the new Winter clothes.” She turned and pointed towards the back of the boutique, where a couple of employees were stacking coats on a wall and giggling among each other. 

The person the girl pointed at, Kodi, was currently standing on tip-toes, trying to hang up a coat on the back wall, and hadn’t even heard the other enter the store yet!

George gave her a nod as he stepped out of the limo. The crowd burst into excited chatter as one of Unova’s richest men smoothed his lapel down over his chest and smiled for the cameras. They ate it up, especially the women journalists on scene. George’s renown for being the millionaire playboy had lost the ‘playboy’, but none of the fire. He suspected many of them were wanting to make a ‘the woman who chained the heartbreaker down’ headline.

He turned away and held his hand into the limo for Merina. The chatter quieted to a simmer, eager cameras positioned to see if George had, yet again, managed to arrive at one of his father’s functions with the same woman.

Somehow, the repetitious was scandalous.

Despite her earlier attitude, the moment George held out his hand to escort her from the limo, Merina’s heart started pounding in her chest. She had seen the flashes of light from the cameras as George got out, and she had heard the crowd. Still, she smiled up at George, and accepted his hand as she climbed out of the vehicle.

The lights, the people, the cameras... everything always made her feel like a Superstar, despite being nothing more than a bank teller. Still, she loved the excitement! Coming from such a small town-like community, and yet being here gave her so much pride. 

As she stepped out beside George, she tried her best not to squint at the barrage of camera flashes, and put on her best smile, as she waited for George to lead the way inside.

“No, thank you, for always being a perfect date,” George chuckled as he slid in, “It’s true, though, the regional managers were basically demanding to see you again. You really work some magic at these things.”

As the limo pulled away, the streetlights illuminating the interior of the car in a steady rhythm, George relaxed back into his chair. He was nervous too. After his last engagement ‘failures’, he’d been stuffed with a branch manager job at an older bank. The newer branch had all new staff, with their manager coming in from Kanto. It hurt to know his dad cared more about 'insuring the next-next generation’ than the happiness of his own son.

He looked to Merina, all gussied up and probably internally fretting herself to death. She was so beautiful and determined, so much more so than he was. He loved bringing her out to these dumb functions. She got to shine and he could relax for a bit.

It wasn’t long before the limo pulled up to the newest bank, a glimmering banner over the front door announcing its grand opening event. Dozens of people were already inside, milling about and smoozing.

“Ready to dazzle them again?” He asked as the door opened, flooding them with the bank lights and the flashes of new reporter cameras.

Merina watched the flashing lights, and for a moment, she wondered if Mr. Arwell.... George’s Father, would be here at an event like this, and suddenly she felt nervous. However, it was hard to dwell on that when with the lights flashing in her face. It made her think she finally arrived at the life she was working so hard towards.

She held her clutch on her lap and nodded at George, “Of course! After you.”

“Ah, alright then. That just means I don’t have to split my attention between two lovely ladies,” he motioned for her to come along, “Let’s get going, shall we? The uppercrust of Unova is simply clamoring for another sighting of Merina Ochita, the young banking upstart!”

The limo was still growling at the entrance of the apartments, the driver idly texting on his phone when they arrived. George opened the door for Merina, “Ma’am~”

Merina tried her hardest not to blush as he said that, and simply nodded, “I-I doubt that!” Still, hearing that made her happy. After all, she was striving for the upper crust. Working hard to live in the lap of luxury was her whole motive sine she was a teenager.

She smiled, as George opened the car door, and slipped into the seat, feeling more like a Princess instead of a Bank Teller as she did, “Thank you.” She professionally replied, and shuffled over to the far side for George to come in as well. 

Merina forced herself not to start shaking. She didn’t want to risk messing up her hair or make up before the event, but these things still always made her nervous. The mixture of excitement and nervousness never mixed well, but naturally she put on a brave face. She wanted to do her best to impress after all! 

She looked over at George as she waited for him in the car, “Thank you, again, for the ride.”

But that doesn't answer the question, you could still get a crush on someone even if you don't want to~ ;Dc
