Just so happens that I’ve devoted years of my life to studying this very topic, and happen to be right here to describe my research…….

Well, they sure as hell aren’t from god, so if you want to think of it that way!

Without getting into too many details (still getting the papers ready, can’t go leaking every breakthrough!), basically what happened was we stopped breeding for survival. We kept widening the gene pool, natural selection more or less ceased to apply, and (give or take the addition of a few manufactured compounds and chemicals in our environment) all the haphazard gene mixtures led to a new reason to pick mates selectively.

Not like I’m encouraging power marriages, though.

Summary: Back during their time as Castella’s prisoner, Holland bonds with Trente-Cinq over a mutual dislike of the doctor. Cinq, sympathetic to their plight, offers to make their stay a bit more comfortable — and after a run-in with Flomme, one of Director Wuste’s allies, Holland could certainly use it.

CWs: Medical procedures (blood drawing)

Summary: After arranging a meeting in secret, Virginia Cross meets her sister’s employer alone. Driven to learn the truth behind Myra’s work, and confident that she can handle herself, Virginia presses Castella — who is all too eager to explain herself and let the younger Cross see what she’s been up to.

But Dr. Delacroix knows too much. And Virginia doesn’t know nearly enough...
