Personally, I believe that the baby within the womb is also a human and should have a right to live! While yes, the baby IS within the womb of a woman, there is a completely different, beautiful human resting inside of her. And while I get that it relies totally on the mother for everything, do children under the age of 13 not rely on their parents for all things?

I think one thing you’ll run into is that most people don’t consider conceptions in the first trimester, and often the second, to be babies - I certainly don’t. And I mention first trimester specifically because that’s when the majority of terminations occur. There’s no comparison to a screaming, pink newborn and a pea-size fetus in terms of their development. Even that said, regardless of gestational age, we don’t obligate any other demographic to surrender their autonomy or physical well-being for the sake of another. Even people who are deceased have a bundle of rights to their body that are typically predetermined or determined by their next of kin. We don’t obligate people to donate their organs to sustain others, because we are afforded that autonomy.

The concerns of Nazi and white nationalist affiliation is reasonable and sensible. These are good things to be worried about. Women who are concerned about this platform are not hysterical no-fun harpies who hate radical feminism. The mechanisms in far-right propaganda are way more intense and more carefully orchestrated than a lot of people either realize or are willing to admit. This is a bad strategy, and it’s really disturbing to get dogpiled by other lesbians on more than one occasion for saying that perhaps tacking a voluntary social networking site onto an established far-right platform is a bad thing.

At first I again assumed that this was a naive high schooler who has been too logged on too early in their life, but this person is thirty and should know better, and this is actually really sad to read. I hope this person can find community and supportive friends that assure him that he does not have to have sex that ever gives him moments of being grossed out by virtue of the very person that they’re having sex with. That’s not normal, it’s not fair to whoever he’s sleeping with because people want to be actively desired, not temporarily endured. A person’s sex is not the same as big lips or a small penis. Sex is the basis of sexuality.

When I first read this post, I thought it was written by a sophomore high schooler who would have done well to get into emo if they’d been born in an earlier year. I thought this because this seemed like an inexperienced, naive-at-best perspective on what constitutes shallowness and sexuality. Alas, I was wrong. This poster is a mid-twenties transwoman who likes anime.

Re: “liking people for who they are”—We are our bodies. Bodies are not meat gundams. Bodies are not prisons from which to break free or to escape, no matter how much transhumanists want to promote that line of thinking. It’s not shallow to want to only have sex that you want to have. That’s the baseline, actually. Being attracted to only one sex doesn’t lack depth or understanding, it’s just not what homophobes want to hear, so instead this poster has resorted to childish name-calling and therefore trying to bait their readers into proving that they’re not shallow. It’d be farcical if it wasn’t insidious and dangerous.

The real disgrace to lesbianism is the ongoing attempt to guilt and pressure lesbians into having sex with people with penises.

I’ve seen critiques of this post already, but this one is pretty grim because I think it shows some immaturity on the speaker’s part with regards to how dating and relationships function. There is, in fact, something stopping people from dating people they don’t want to date based on sex, and it’s...their sex. That’s not a personal failing on someone’s part - it’s just a dealbreaker. In dating, some things are dealbreakers, and that means the relationship would not be healthy or functioning.

I don’t know if the poster has a real answer to the question of “what kind of disease causes someone to be unattracted to someone”. I suspect not. I feel like there’s an opportunity for a bleak joke about homosexuality being formerly in the DSM, but it seems a bit dark considering this person then advocated for others to spend their money, what dwindling free time people have, and a tremendous amount of effort to likely traumatize themselves, only to come out the other side as still gay.

This post seems to think that everyone should be given their fair shake and that people should always have an exception. Unfortunately for them, they’re wrong. This mindset necessitates compulsory bisexuality, but some people are just plain ol’ gay. It is actually okay to not like any penis, or even anyone who once had a penis.

What’s not normal is trying to find an upper limit of what you will endure for the sake of someone else (especially under the pretense of proving that you’re not a bigot). People should want to have the sex they’re having for their own pleasure. It’s not a preference to only have sex that you want to have—it is the default expectation. Ask yourself, why are people so invested in others having sex that they don’t want?

It’s not bigotry; it’s just sexuality.

So, something I notice with a significant amount of posts that try to reason with people about their sexuality is that they first preface it with “that’s fine, it’s ok, you’re valid if you XYZ”, and I think the function of this language is kind of insidious. It tries to establish the speaker as being on the same team as their audience, and with so-called genital preference discourse, that simply isn’t the case. There are opposing interests here.

This particular poster willfully ignores that people actually do tell others that they are bigoted for not dating a particular demographic, and then goes on to lecture their audience as if they’ve simply misunderstood the content of everyone else’s arguments.

That having been said, it is actually very normal to be upset at the idea of sleeping with someone you don’t want to, or doing anything you don’t want to really. Thinking about sex you don’t want to have is upsetting and disturbing, especially when there’s been a tremendous amount of pressure to have exactly that kind of sex, to the point that some women opt to speak about it only in private and in confidence.

Interestingly, it doesn’t seem that anyone gave a tremendous crap about the revulsion people express for vaginas and vulvas, such as calling them fishy or an axe wound. Nobody who takes the time to address the concept of genital preferences seem worried about gay men being repulsed by vaginas (fine) and speaking at length about how repugnant and dirty they are (weird and unchill, contributes to existing stigma for female people). This has only become a hill to die on in regards to trans people, and more specifically how lesbians do not want to date transwomen, although we’re now seeing more people try to address the “problem” of gay men not wanting to sleep with transmen.
