I have to admit one of the most refreshing aspects of Tamon’s B Side is how much of a freak both Tamon and Utage are.

Like I went full on expecting for Utage slowly going down until she isn’t that much of a fangirl so they have a realistic relationship, I DID NOT EXPECT TAMON TO MATCH HER FREAK.

Spoilers down btw, I read until the last update of the manga I recommend you run away if you haven’t read it yet, it’s pretty refreshing how the author handles this series imo

In the last couple of chapters, when Tamon finally confessed to Utage his feelings of love, I expected for a few moments that they would become a couple. I DID NOT EXPECT KINOSHITA TO REJECT HIM AT ALL.

Because she feels the same after all, she admits it and recognizes her feeling way early than Tamon. Which makes sense if we see how Tamon grew up compared to her.

Then I expected this to go in the route of “well my feelings got rejected but because I love her I won’t force it upon her, instead I’m going to go full on being the idol she loves”

But then the manga took my hand and slammed me into a wall by making Tamon go “Nuh huh, I WANT HER” even after that talk Keito gave him about how he CANT be in a relationship with her because of his Idol status.

It even made Tamon go “you know what? I’m going to better myself in many ways so she can see how capable I am so I can be deserving of her love”

It’s so adorable and I love how both of them match each other’s freak. But while Utage tries with all her might to keep it real, Tamon is, he is just intense now in a good way.

Good for him trying to start to be independent, even if it’s not for himself, it’s a start.
