Genos was only thirteen when the heinous Mad Ratlord sent his minions to destroy his innocent village. Rat-bite fever, Weil’s Disease, they were two of many concerns exchanged by the townspeople in the short months following the initial invasion, and at times Genos wished for a swift death for his loved ones instead of watching the life slowly fade from their eyes as they grew weak and ill… and ultimately died. Pleas for the Hero Association to step in fell on deaf ears, if their messages even reached their intended destination in the first place. It was obvious they were fighting a losing battle when a mass grave was dug for the quickly accumulating number of victims who fell at the hands of the Mad Ratlord, and it wasn’t long before Genos, the last surviving child, fell ill as well.

It was only when Dr. Kuseno found him in the overrun and decrepit village, sick and dying, that Genos felt a glimmer of hope, and he pleaded for a savior. One who could replace his failing and feeble body with something stronger, something he could use to track down the monster responsible for murdering his family and claiming the lives of an entire village of innocent people. Dr. Kuseno was just the man for the job, and he agreed to help transform Genos into a true exterminator of all disgusting vermin. Perhaps they both had a sense of humor, or irony, when Genos awoke as a mechanical feline of destruction. After all, what better predator to exact justice on evil rodents than their natural predator: a cat?

Now, four years later, Genos abandoned his old identity and took on the name Nyanos, and his search for the Mad Ratlord continues as he offers aid to anyone in need of an exterminator.

Sleep and the eventual wake-up period were the strangest things so far. Genesis’s android body was build for optimal rest and recharge: all sentient functions and heavy programs were completely shut off to minimize the time he’d spend recharging. He held absolutely no memory of the times he spent recharging, though there were surveillance systems set in place to record unusual movements or attempts to move him, this with the intention of performing an immediate reboot in case of emergency.

as you define the personality of Genos?

the personality of canon genos...? ha... well....

i would say genos is hot-headed, rash, determined, intelligent (when it comes to most subjects - self preservation is not one of them), serious, devoted, and a bit naive.

but i think one of genos’ best personality traits is how passionate he is! when he dedicates himself to something, theres no chance of him backing down. you can see that with his life goal of getting revenge for his family as well as how he’s dedicated himself to saitama. no matter how many times saitama has stated he has nothing to teach genos, genos remains by his side. he loves saitama and would risk everything to make his sensei happy.

he can be rude or stand-offish and cold, but personally i think thats because he must be scared to get close to people after losing everyone that mattered to him ;; if he loves you, you’re lucky because he’ll love you forever...

i dont want to get overly mushy about the kid so i’ll end this with a quote from kaito ishikawa (genos’ voice actor) that i think sums up genos well: “Conversations with Genos don't flow normally－he likes to throw curveballs just to see how Saitama reacts, which is usually by saying, "Cut it out," which amuses Genos immensely.”
