“she read books as one would breathe air, to fill up and live” - annie dillard
You are valid and your problems are not stupid. You deserve respect and support even if you think it’s dumb. 🌿
Stop censoring the words people are using to blacklist, you are actually exposing people to the word/subject you think you’re protecting them from. If rape is on my blacklist and you have an in depth account of rape and you used r*pe for everything, I WILL NOW BE EXPOSED TO IT because my blacklist DIDN’T BLOCK IT because YOU CHANGED THE WORD.
^^^^^^ To add: Censoring is only really necessary when it comes to a slur your cannot reclaim, but you still need to at least tag the post with the themes so anyone who has, say, antiblack violence blacklisted for instance, won’t be exposed to what it is that triggers them.
I would really appreciate it if people could reblog this instead of ignoring it because this IS becoming a wide spread problem. I have had several panic attacks over the last month due to things that are on my blacklist not being caught specifically because of people censoring the black list word. Blacklists can pick up on words inside posts, but they can’t pick up on those words when you change one or more letters to a star.
Stop censoring words in posts that aren’t slurs, you are not protecting us from exposure, you are forcibly exposing us to it. You are doing precisely the opposite of helping us.
Same with adding slashes and numbers in your tags bc xkit won’t pick it up and block it
i want to protect every young girl in the world being wrongly sexualized and forced to grow up way too fast
The 13-year-old girl from Stranger Things:
Her 15-year-old male costar:
JFC why can’t they leave that poor girl alone???
What’s sexual about this? @sespursongles
Gee i dunno, maybe the way they had her spread her legs and make an o-face???
She has to pose, he gets to play
Asking “what’s sexual about this” is almost insidous. Sure, she’s not naked and she’s not performing any sexual acts, but that’s not what sexualization necessarily means. The girl-child is looking longinly, languishingly into the camera. She has her legs in a short dress spread, her lips separated, and very much make-up making her look older. She is passive, for the camera/viewer, while the boy is active, joking, playing, relaxed and as a child, respected as a child. I’m sure someone might say, “but that’s you sexualizing her, with your gaze” but come on, who are we kidding here? We know the industry sexualizes young girls, we know this isn’t a coinscidence. We know this is the pattern, the model for woman according to the male gaze or woman performing for the male gaze, and we know she is 13 and that everyone knows she is. And we know this destroys girls.
THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS
It shocks me that some people still don’t get this. It’s a thing and it needs to stop.
I’m just…I don’t think of it as overtly sexual, but that’s me, but I still do think the intent was to make her more grown-up looking than her costar. She’s modeling, posing, not something natural that a kid would just normally do.
You could have her in that dress and makeup but at least let her laugh and joke around at the camera like she’s just having fun, instead of that weird supermodel thing she’s doing up there.
Here’s an unpopular opinion that shouldn’t be unpopular: Not wanting sex is a reasonable boundary to set for literally any reason. Be it your trauma, your mental health, your sexuality, or any other factor. Your partners should respect that and they should respect you. This shouldn’t be a debate.
“Better not to give into it. It takes ten times as long to put yourself back together again as it does to fall apart.”

394. Being a Hufflepuff does NOT mean being happy all the time! Being a Hufflepuff is being loyal and kind and generous! Depressed Hufflepuffs that put on fake smiles for their friends but cry in the bathroom stalls where nobody can see! Depressed Hufflepuffs that participate in self harm but nobody noticed because they always wear long sleeves! Hufflepuffs finding out about these poor souls and petitioning for a consular to be put in place at Hogwarts, and HM McGonagall complying!

The bravest woman on Earth.
I love her. Forever reblog.
I have the utmost respect for this woman.
please reblog. reblog the way you would reblog a picture of a hot singer, a pretty girl, a tasty meal or some nice stationary. Because this will not make your blog ‘less aesthetic’ or anything. This is important, far more important than anything I’ve mentioned before.

She loved him because he had brought her back to life. She had been like a caterpillar in a cocoon, and he had drawn her out and shown her that she was a butterfly.

January 17th - Day 9
First day of school after a whole month of vacation 📚 Things I am grateful for today:
Spent the day with my friend Kate
I made us late this morning and she wasn’t mad about it
I bought a few things I needed between my two classes of the day
Both my classes went well and I feel a lot less stress about the future evaluations
Spent the night with my DnD friends, and we had a potluck before playing
Going to bed not too late
