this might be a controversial take, but this season is a very good example of why it's important to have queer people play queer characters. I'm not gonna throw a fit if a non-queer person does play a queer character, but when an actually queer person does, you can just tell the difference. there's little things put into the acting that resonates so strongly with the queer community that, I feel, straight and/or cis people just couldn't be able to portray as thoroughly. like the whole of episode 4 and dina overcoming her comphet, the scene in the record store where you can literally see into her mind and know exactly what she's thinking when she starts to tear up, like. god it's just so fucking good and I mean that's also just isabela merced being a fucking amazing actress, but again. it's just so raw and real and they know what they're doing and ugh. and ellie doing the knee thing too like??? hello??
