As #worldbreastfeedingweek comes to a close, I wanted to reflect on my own journey over the last 5 months. I'll be honest...the beginning was so difficult. Feedings every 2-3 hours, getting a good latch, the nipple pain, the sore boobs, being engorged, clogged ducts, trying to stay hydrated, an overactive letdown that frustrated my son, remembering to eat, sore back, and all while navigating parenthood & recovering from labor. I almost quit about a month in, but I'm so glad I didn't because I now cherish the little moments I share with my son...holding his close all while providing the much needed nutrition and antibodies. Although most of my time has been spent sitting on the couch or in bed, there's been a few spots that I never thought I'd be nursing my son: bathtub, car, team meeting, in the forest, while walking, going to the toilet, watering the garden, zoom telecons, my office, and a brewery (cheers).
