THE GEORGE LUCAS TALK SHOW PRESENTS THE HOWARD THE DUCK XXX ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION AT UCB EAST • FRIDAY, JUNE 3RD AT MIDNIGHT
We’ve done a lot of “themed” shows in the past two years at UCB Theatre East, including 3 annual “Star Wars Day” celebrations, a show devoted entirely to M&Ms “Chocolate Mpire” & a star-studded tribute to J.J. Abrams’ pre-Force Awakens work as co-creator of the TV series Felicity.
We aim to continue this tradition with our June 3rd celebration of Lucasfilm’s 1986 cult classic, Howard The Duck.
Much has been made about the film’s poor box office performance and bad reviews in the summer of 1986, but what’s clear now is that as the first feature film based on a Marvel comic, it paved the way for some of the biggest box office champions of the 21st century, including this month’s current #1 film, Captain America: Civil War.
Come to this show or regret it forever. It will only happen once.

We have also extended invitations to MARVEL to send us any guests, but they have not responded in any way despite multiple e-mails and outreach via social media. I’ll say it again: if you have any connection to the original HTD comics or worked on the movie in any capacity, please get in touch with us.

I have spent over $300 on Howard The Duck-related items for this specific show: over $200 on George’s new show outfit and more than $100 on things I will just straight-up be GIVING AWAY to audience members who come to this show.
ALSO: if you are attending this show, please, please, please dress up like a duck if you can. Fashion some kind of duckbill or get one from a costume shop if you can. It’s not mandatory, but it sure would be great if as many audience members as possible were dressed up like ducks. Honestly, how many times in this life will you have an opportunity to be a member of an all-duck audience? This could be your only chance.
I’m very, very excited about this show. It is my hope that this show will be THE most thoughtful and fun celebration of the Howard The Duck movie to happen anywhere in the world.
