lilia isn’t someone we get to meet in the books, so she is now free real estate <3

i’ve decided that she was named after the fabled ‘lilies of life’ that had been rumoured but never proven. she had been told the stories since the cradle and, as a prisoner to the palace, could only dream of the world outside. it was a fantasy. it was distant and unreal to her. but she loved it all the same. she read and read flora journals and catalogues and draped herself in flowers among the royal finery. she painted rainbow intricate forests and colourful rolling hills. she would request yellow lilies, the closest she could get to the legends, her namesake. but like all flowers plucked and pretty, she wilted and died too soon once she served her purpose.

im not sure if i ever posted about this but while im here, headcanon that lief actually did sing for joy a bit as they approached the forests (even just like a little bit to himself, or else he mightve been so relieved he might belted out some tunes and barda was all > - < adin give me strength) and thats why in shadowgate jasmine makes the comment that his voice is sweet. im choosing to believe she was being sincerely honest and not trying to deceive the masked ones <3
