Day 30 - Endless
For me, the endlessness of The Three Doors Trilogy lies in the nostalgia of it all. These books will always feels like home to me, and I relate so deeply them. Lisbeth has always reminded me so much of my mum, I haven’t got a dad around, and as the youngest with two older siblings who are more charismatic and academic than me, Rye has always been me. It’s scary growing up and rereading, realising I’m now older than Rye. When I had read this series for the first time, I looked forward to when he and I would be the same age. I don’t know what Rye’s future holds. I don’t know what his life would be like at 18. But every time I open up The Golden Door again, and I smell those aged and worn pages, it feels almost like the first time. It is peace, it is comfort, it is nostalgia, it is home. This series holds such a special place in my heart, and it always will. This little community means so much to me, even if I’m not around all the time. And to me, that is what makes it endless. ♡
Redraw of an old drawing!
Day 2 - Feels Good
The comfort character ever
Day 8 - Swindle
Did this mean — could it mean — that the little nutshell actually had the power to grant wishes?
His heart pounding with excitement, Rye fitted the halves of shell together and wished fiercely for something to eat. But when he pulled the halves apart again, there was nothing to be seen inside.

Day 1 - Favourite Character
The need to save it drove everything else from Rye’s mind. He found an old washing basket among the ruins and put the goat gently inside it. Then, clutching his burden, he made for home.

Day 17 - Name
It had been more than belief. It had been something he had known, as surely as he knew his own name.
The Golden Door // Ch 2 The Challenge
He did not know what had happened to him. He did not even know his own name.
The Third Door // Ch 7 The Stranger
a happy boy
me reading the golden door for the 13th time: rye has been wearing a jacket this whole time?!?
Rye pressed his palm against the medallion. A hot, tingling sensation ran up his arm all the way to the shoulder.
The Golden Door // Ch 7 The Chamber Of Doors
just rye in his tree, having a blast
And all at once, the fierce, uncaring brilliance of the stars blurred before his eyes, and he felt a terrible longing to be back beneath a softer sky, among the things he knew, behind the high Wall of Weld.

“Take me with you, Rye!”
a lil messy sketch for u
(and more to come)
If Rye had not been standing still, thinking about bees, he might have missed hearing the sound.
The Golden Door // Ch 5 Fate
head empty, only bees
