We've got, essentially, a brand new type of car. When we look at the past year of red bull cars, for example, it makes sense that the deficit between the two team cars can be explained by a favored development to the faster driver across cars (i.e. Verstappen.) That explanation does not make sense here. Kimi is in his second year. He is not naturally more gifted on tracks that drivers like Hamilton have driven for the past 10+ years.

Mercedes has developed a faster car, and they have favored Kimi over George
