I want to be equal but she comes from more money than I do, and she has her own business already so she’s also worked for more money than I have… it’s hard to be equal when she wants things she can afford but I can’t. Does that make sense?

That makes a lot of sense. You just want to feel equal and like you’re contributing the same.

We raised you to treat your partner like an equal. It’s easy for us to do that when your father and I came from similar economic backgrounds. There wasn’t as big of a gap.
