Georgina Banks // 39 (DOB: June 28th, 1985) // Actress & Singer
Her full name is Georgina Raquelle Banks, but she prefers Georgie and has basically used that nickname since she was a kid because it’s what her dad calls her. She was born and raised in the Los Angeles area.
She’s adopted!! Her parents both worked in the entertainment industry (mom an actress and dad a screenwriter) and with her mother being an actress, she didn’t want to experience the downtime of being pregnant, so they decided to adopt instead. She was a baby when she was adopted and hasn’t ever met her biological parents.
Because her parents were both in the entertainment industry, she was exposed to it from a very young age and there was very little else she could imagine herself doing. Her mother became her manager and started sending her out to auditions almost as soon as she could talk, and she landed her first role at 6 years old. She was homeschooled her whole life because of this lifestyle.
She eventually became a Disney Channel star around the same time as shows like Lizzie McGuire, Even Stevens, That’s So Raven, and Phil of the Future were airing. She started out as a recurring character on That’s So Raven then eventually was given her own show. Details of her show are TBD, but it was pretty popular lmao so your character could have watched it!! As a resident Disney Child, she was then pushed into pursuing other avenues, such as singing, having her own clothing line, and whatever other things Disney made almost all of their stars do at some point.
While she enjoyed it, she quickly became overwhelmed with all of the work she was being forced to do and started to look for outlets for that stress. As a Disney kid, she couldn’t do anything too scandalous without it becoming front page news, so she started out with simple things like drinking with friends and occasionally dabbling in drugs here and there. Whenever she could, she would turn to her father for advice, but he was a busy screenwriter trying to make deadlines, so their schedules didn’t always allow them to overlap. She never felt like she could open up to her mother about her struggles because her mother had worked so hard to get her the opportunities she had and she never wanted to seem ungrateful for it, especially because she knew her mother’s career hadn’t been anywhere as successful as her own.
When she was in her late twenties into her early thirties, she dated @ianmonts and they were super cute. She tried to keep their relationship private, but obviously that's difficult to do in the public eye. That plus the pressures from her mom and her default of drinking/using drugs to cope caused strain on their relationship. They agreed to take a break to figure themselves out but never did end up getting back together.
Though she no longer worked with Disney, the image of being a Disney Channel star was hard to shake, even as she took on more serious acting roles and partied more publicly. Her sweet disposition and bubbly personality didn’t help people’s perception, either.
She's in town to perform for the festival but some Things™ will happen that will force her to stay in the area for a little while longer including discovering part of her parentage, so she's brand new in town and needs some friends
