i follow a couple german ppl on tiktok and sometimes i feel super smart cuz i know what they’re saying and other times i am strongly reminded that i do not speak a ton of german

read my german horoscope today, it said i will have good weather and should go into the forest and i will find me luck and he/she will have green eyes and someone is waiting for my answer and to watch my health

i think a green eyed witch in the forest is waiting for me to tell them to cast a good weather spell, and if i don’t they will curse me with bad health

i keep wanting to say “ich habe keine idee” instead of “i have no idea” cuz i say it so much in german class

i understand that duolingo is made to be game-like and make learning new languages fun, but it’s become pay to win and it’s really annoying

like i know apps have to make money, but it plays an add after every lesson and it’s an add for super duolingo, and even on super duolingo (which i used to have) it gives you adds for duolingo max

plus if you don’t have enough energy you can’t learn, which is really annoying because it recommends learning for as long as possible a day, i mean i’ve read duolingo articles saying to learn for 30 minutes a day, which i partially agree with, i don’t think you can learn a language well with only five minutes a day, but 30 minutes can be a lot, i’d say 10, maybe 15 minutes is perfect. but on duolingo you literally cannot do more than five minutes without getting super because of the energy thing

at this point duolingo isn’t even about learning languages, it’s just another mobile game, which is really annoying because i’d love a fun way to brush your on my german or learn a bit of a new language

right after i posted this i went back on duolingo to check out the math course and i got a super pop up

this was in the middle about filling out what grade i’m in

didn’t even wait till i had the course loaded, it’s just begging me to get super
