Very organized, if only due to the nature of living with her grandmother in such a small space.
What does she pretend to have together but actually doesn’t?
Ronnie feels like she has nothing together. Even when she gets a full ride scholarship to NYU to study law she didn’t feel like she had anything together and had been faking all of it. There’s a level of imposter syndrome with Ronnie.
What’s her morning ritual, and what happens when it’s disrupted?
On school days Ronnie wakes up an hour and a half before school. She has breakfast which is usually half a bagel with cream cheese, and precooked microwavable bacon. She takes a shower and brushes her teeth gets dressed. She’ll make her bed, her lunch, pack her bag and then she’s off to school either by bus, or bike, or catching a ride with Eddie if he’s at Wayne’s.
On days off school, she’ll sleep in until just about the time school would typically start. She’ll still have breakfast and brush her teeth and make her bed, but beyond that she doesn’t stick to her usual routine.
How often does she do laundry?
Typically once a week, enough to keep everything fresh and clean.
Does she look at herself in mirrors, or avoid them? Why?
She will, just to make sure she that she looks presentable on some level.
Does she eat to survive, for pleasure or as comfort?
Mostly to survive, maybe a little leaning towards comfort. She has family dinner with Granny Ecker most nights so food is definitely a comforting thing to the both of them as much as it is for sustaining survival.
What part of her living space reflects her the most?
Ronnie’s living space doesn’t really reflect her until she moves out to New York. In Hawkins she lives in a trailer with Granny Ecker, it’s a small space and most of the things inside of it were already around before Ronnie had moved in. She has a small array of personal items but not as much as what her peers have in their rooms.
Does she keep plants? Are those plants alive?
She doesn’t typically tend to keep plants, but she can keep them alive if she get custody of one.
What’s something she’s weirdly particular about being clean?
Her room. She doesn’t have a whole lot of control about how her room looks, but keeping it clean and organized is a small aspect that she does have control over.
What does she put on when she doesn’t want to think?
The TV. She’s doesn’t even watch what’s on it, she just like to have it on as white noise basically
Moderately organized. To anyone else her room looks messy (but not necessarily chaotic) but she has a system and it actually only needs to make sense to her and it does. So it works.
What does she pretend to have together but actually doesn’t?
Perhaps her future. People look at Jean, or see her grades and assume she has ideas and plans of what her future will look like, and she’ll tend to hem and haw and nod along with them. But she’s not entirely sure what she wants to with her life and doesn’t really feel equipped to make a decision at 18 that will affect her for decades, if not until she dies. She finds the whole notion incredibly bizarre.
What’s her morning ritual, and what happens when it’s disrupted?
On school days, she wakes up maybe 20 minutes before school starts, brushes her teeth, gets dressed and walks over. She doesn’t live super far from the school so she can usually make it to her home room just in time for the bell to ring. Outside of school days, she wakes up at 9, showers, has breakfast (usually cereal or fruit, maybe a bagel or toast with some kind of sweet spread. She’s more into sweet breakfast than savoury) and that’s kinda it for her morning. Maybe she’ll get dressed but there’s not much too that, there’s only so many ways you can combine jeans with a top of some kind.
On days off it doesn’t particularly matter if her schedule gets disrupted but on school days it’s a big deal since it could very well make her late for school.
How often does she do laundry?
Jean and her parents alternate weekends for laundry. She’ll usually do her clothes and her bedding once every two weeks on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month.
Does she look at herself in mirrors, or avoid them? Why?
She doesn’t avoid them but she also doesn’t go out of her way to constantly check herself out and make sure she’s presentable. If her hair is a little messed up then oh well it’s a little messed up. She doesn’t think anyone should be judged harshly solely based on their appearance.
Does she eat to survive, for pleasure or as comfort?
She leans more towards Survival and Pleasure. Not that she’s never experienced a heart break and sought out a pint of her favourite ice cream but it’s a rare occurrence for her.
What part of her living space reflects her the most?
Again like most teenagers, her bedroom reflects her best. The yellow paint of the walls, the polaroids of her and her friends, the potted ivy that has grown so long over the years she can wrap it around the headboard of her bed. The framed note from her birth mother, and the teddy bear made out of the shirt she was found wrapped in. It’s the most direct and intimate look into her soul.
Does she keep plants? Are those plants alive?
Yes. She loves plants and she has a huge green thumb and a green house in her backyard where she grows things even over the winter.
What’s something she’s weirdly particular about being clean?
Her greenhouse. She’s very on top of it, maybe even more so than keeping her room clean.
What does she put on when she doesn’t want to think?
Music. She has a more eclectic taste than Kevin does, she’s not strictly into metal and rock and chooses to listen to all kinds of things. So usually she’ll just pop on the radio and listen to that as a distraction.
Not at all. Kevin is a very messy a chaotic teenage boy. His room is full of strewn about clothes and trash (Old D&D papers, school notes, long forgotten assignments, stuff for Corroded Coffin). He maybe cleans his room up once every two months or so, but such is the way of many teenagers.
What does he pretend to have together but actually doesn’t?
Kevin doesn’t have anything together, maybe Corroded Coffin? But that’s less his influence and more so Eddie’s, and even then Kevin’s not sure if everyone within the band is always truly on the same page. But when not in Hawkins he probably pretends they’re a bit more together and more successful especially when trying to impress women.
What’s his morning ritual, and what happens when it’s disrupted?
On a school day, his morning ritual is basically simply the 3 b’s; Bathroom, Breakfast, Bus (or to his car once he got his license.) He grabs whatever clothes are nearest to him that don’t smell, and heads out. There’s really not much that can be done to disrupt this routine, worst case scenario he doesn’t get to use the bathroom until he gets to school, or maybe he arrives a little earlier than usual.
On weekends/breaks, Kevin doesn’t usually wake up until noon. He’ll make himself lunch and also prepare a batch of breakfast sandwiches to easily grab during the school week before he head’s out of the door. After that it’s usually either watching over his brother for his parents and nonna, or hanging out with the band which could entail any number of things. This routine is a little more susceptible to being disrupted and it can ruin his entire weekend if not the following week when he goes back to school. But Kevin is not a fighter, at best you’ll get some minor whining out of him.
How often does he do laundry?
Again, being a teenage boy Kevin isn’t always doing his own laundry. He maybe fully does his laundry solely on his own from start to finish (meaning from gathering it in the hamper to folding and putting it away) when he cleans his room. But he lives with four other people, so his mom is usually on top of that and will ask both her sons for their hampers every other Friday night. Kevin doesn’t always accomplish this.
Does he look at themselves in mirrors, or avoid them? Why?
Kevin’s no stranger to looking at himself in the mirror, but not in a way that would suggest that he’s full of himself. He checks himself in the morning while brushing his teeth before school, probably checks himself before going on stage, maybe a couple other times a day while washing his hands after using the washroom. Just enough to make sure that he looks, despite what other people might things, vaguely presentable.
Does he eat to survive, for pleasure or as comfort?
All of the above. Kevin loves cooking and he loves food, it’s what connects him with his Nonna, and bonds him with his family (INCLUDING the boys of Corroded Coffin), it’s what gives him the necessary energy to give his performances his all. Food is all of those things, and Kevin would view it as such and not limit it to being only one thing.
What part of his living space reflects him the most?
His bedroom no doubt. It’s a chaotic mess as previously stated, he probably has a thick blanket over the window to keep the sun out when he doesn’t want it rather than a thin curtain. Posters of metal bands and horror movies cover the walls. His bass guitar sits in a corner on its own stand. The shelves are lined with D&D books, note books, and fantasy novels.”
Does he keep plants? Are those plants alive?
No. Not for lack of trying, Jean gave him a cactus once as a Christmas gift, and that thing was dead by March.
What’s something he’s weirdly particular about being clean?
Definitely his bass. That is his pride and joy and it’s the one thing he will wipe down more regularly (it also helps that he’s often lugging it to practice or performances.) But he takes very good care of that bass.
What does he put on when he doesn’t want to think?
Probably Iron Maiden, or Metallica or something of the sort. He used to blast them on his stereo but his parents very quickly got tired of that. So he saved up some money from odd jobs and bought really nice studio quality headphones to listen through. Usually he’ll just lay in his bed and listen but sometimes he gets up and moves around, the chord is even long enough that he can work on cleaning a good portion of this room if he chooses to.
Updated my verses a little bit. I now have a verse for every year/season of Stringer Thangs, except for season 5 which I have not watched outside of the epilogue and don't plan to. The descriptions aren't too detailed because Kev, Ronnie and Jean's involvement in the actual meat and supernatural-ness of the plot is going to be a case by case bases depending with whom a thread is written with.
I do think I'm going to come up with a divergent concept for season 5, eventually. I'm not sure how it's going to look at the moment especially since I just have a gaggle of teritiary characters.
