I just randomly remembered of a xmas movie I watched w/ my family this winter.

my dad said it's his childhood movie he watched every xmas but the sheer amount of fucked up shit in this movie?!

the movie is from czechia(well czechoslovakia kinda) and it's called Pelíšky.

it starts with a boy trying to hang himself! he fails and the movie basically never addresses the fact that he's suicidal.

the two father figures are different types of bad parents, one failing to do anything but get drunk with his family and bet, the other screaming at his daughter and saying he wished he had a son.

the wives are obedient, and lack personality.

there is some war stuff going on in the background but all that's important is that the dad of the suicidal boy tries to hang himself in the same fucking spot and fails like his son.

yeah no wonder my dad turned out like he did considering he watched this as a fun movie.
