The Shining (1980) dir. Stanley Kubrick
Tig N' Seek BG painting. A now sadly lost series in which I enjoyed painting this level of quasi-realistic lighting. It was an awesome experience and I loved everyone on the team. Such a sad situation to have it all vanish into nothingness. Regardless, this was fun and I love it.
Hey guys, here’s a pen and ink drawing of a corpse.
I honestly forgot to upload it here, I mostly spend my time not uploading shit at instagram now if you care to follow my inactivity there: @german_horrorozco
Thank you!
Just a nun on a window, nothing too creepy...

Many variations of a post and traffic light for Tig ‘N’ Seek!!
These BG’s appear on the SDCC First Look clip which you can watch HERE!
As the show airs I’ll be uploading some more I got to paint for the show which looks fantastic! Thanks to my friend and art director Levon for making me part of the BG painting crew!
And finally the credits cards!
It was enormously fun and invigorating working on GOLDIE.
It was exciting, inspiring, motivating and challenging!
Emily trusted me with art directing this short-film and I immediately realized what a talented crew she had got together. Cheyenne had beautifully designed the characters, Natasha was almost done storyboarding with wonderful skill, Nico had timed and structured the animatic just perfectly and then I got to see Josh’s first animation clips along with the amazing voice talent and I knew I had to give it my best to step up to the challenge. To try and give the project some of the magic it was spreading everywhere. Paul’s music was the perfect knot tying it all together. I can only hope to have come close to the talent and vision of everyone involved:
Emily Brundige - Writer, Director, Producer
Sadie Gassman - as Barbara
Grey Griffin - as Mrs. Petunia
Charlyne Yi - as GOLDIE
Tex Hammond - as Petey
Taylor Gadsen - as Suzie
Natasha Kline - Storyboards
Cheyenne Curtis - Character Design
Josh Palmer - Animation
Paul Fraser - Music and sound
Nico Colaleo - Animatics
I wish you enjoy this little film about a big girl with a huge heart: GOLDIE.
Final GOLDIE BG’s
Those BG’s on the lower side are exactly the same, but one of the versions is slightly inclined, sometimes this inclination helps to smooth the camera movement.
Petey’s color exploration and final color/cleanup!
Cheyenne’s design is so lovely and it gave us a broad spectrum of options to explore for Petey, we tried different skin tones and hair color. Then we refined some rather similar versions from which to take the final version of Petey.
Check out GOLDIE and if you think we did a good job share it with your loved ones.
Even More BG’s from GOLDIE!
These are Mrs. Petunia’s worksite and surrounding area and Petey’s house along with the tree he’s stranded on. Oh love!
Color explorations and final color/cleanup for Suzie.
Original design by Cheyenne Curtis, if you’ve been following these posts you know by know how good an artist she is!!
And if you’ve been up to date with our GOLDIE love fest it’s highly possible you’ve already watch the short but I personally have watched it again and again so click HERE to enjoy it once more!
