Are you sending your best? The denial of the claim of religious hierarchy/Apartheid is implicit. It's a deflection, not an equation. Nobody who points out antizionists are seemingly completely unconcerned with any other country's faults is trying to say Israel is necessarily like those countries. That shouldn't be the mandatory baseline we start from. You can try to coat your reasons for why you revel in the fantasy of destroying Israel and killing or displacing millions in fancy academic jargon, but it's transparently... transparent.
And like all other Leftist Twitter discourse, we then pretend to be stupid so we can take all the subtext and context out of the OP and be like "But what do you mean? Oh so you're saying that Israel didn't train with the NYPD? Oh so you're saying that Israel doesn't have a hierarchy? Oh so you're saying that-"
It's obvious that to bring up Muslim "ethno"states with very explicit religious based hierarchy is not to say "Israel is like these and you only complain about Israel, that's singling it out and that's not fair," it is to say "Here are places doing the things you accuse Israel of doing and ignore all evidence to the contrary, yet you've never drawn any attention to their injustices and their culture and people don't elicit a disgust response from you, what do you say to that?"
And it's so easy to dodge this argument, just say "Fine I condemn Hamas too, so now can we discuss Israel's crimes?" or something like that. You can sidestep it, because it itself is not a great argument... to me at least. Like, all humans are hypocritical, at some point, for certain ideas, to varying degrees. Calling someone a hypocrite and then dusting off your hands is a logical fallacy for a reason. But it's a tightrope to carefully walk, because I think it's good to engage with people and ask them to examine the cause of this specific hypocrisy. Most won't, but at least one can say one tried.
It says a lot that most of the antizionist crowd can't even do this. They're so far up their own asses they can't resist the chance to make things more convoluted than they need to be, all to prove they're the most educated in post-colonial theory in the room. All they care about is being Right. And I mean that literally, this is exactly how the endangered species of conservatives in academia act. And that doesn't surprise me because this whole "I'm going to pretend I don't know what you're obviously saying so I can argue against the dummy version in bad faith" is straight out of a Fox News playbook.
So we need to ask why red triangle and rose and hammer & sickle and Mao Twitter persistently and immediately resort to right wing coded arguments. Is there something primordial about Jew hatred that it just fries a person's brain and they coincidentally start debating like the average Republican? Or is this Leftist movement increasingly populated by former conservatives who never stopped thinking in those paradigms, just changed their moral framework? Or is it something else entirely?
