Scottish border, well worth a silly dance
Walking to the top of Arthur’s Seat, Edinburgh - an amazing view but the number of people doing the walk was even more amazing.
Inner Robin Hood
Katie and AJ’s forest adventure
Turning back time in the Cotswolds
Out and about in the Cotswolds
Photos don’t do this place justice
An awesome use of phone boxes - great idea UK!
The walking options can certainly connect you with nature
Whilst the naming may not be great Upper and Lower Slaughter and the surrounding areas are absolutely stunning.
Burton-on-the-Water
What a magical place to have a Cosy Cottage. Absolute madness in this place during the day with people everywhere. But staying 50 steps from the water lets you explore the area in the morning, before the chaos.
The trip from London to the Cotswolds was lovely, with a short stop off in Henley-on-Thames
View from the London Eye
Bubbles of fun
Pubs, Pizza and Pals
What a way to start a holiday - catching up with friends first met in the US many years ago. A wonderful family that I am sure would do anything for anyone, I can’t wait for the day they visit Aus, the spoiling will be returned and we will look to find the character of the pubs we visited with you. I’m not sure I can deliver as cool a doggy bar or a bar in a horse float, but we will give it a crack.
Then there are of course Aussie friends who have been lured by the charm of London. Stories to catch up on the year apart and the delight brought by knowing they are truly loving their London time.
It does remind you that the simple things, friends, conversations, family, smelling the flowers and falling in love with a car is what makes life wonderful.
Quick trip to London
When a Royal Post mailbox and the Waterloo Station clock greet you, you know it’s time to enjoy London.
The London Eye was fantastic and AJ got to see and walk over the Millennium Bridge. Whilst we didn’t get up close this time, Tower Bridge always excites.
Flight over
Flights were smooth, on time and had great service - thank you Singapore Airlines.
Katie loved the ever changing landscapes, from deserts to swirls in sand beds, the swarm of cargo vessels in Singapore to shared airspace (we won the race).
Changi airport was marvelous as always, though we were still there way before many butterflies were awake. Travel tip, see if you are eligible for Changi $’s - 20 Changi $’s gets you into the lounge for 2 hours where there are showers, sustenance and power outlets.
Preparing, testing and getting used to new toys to capture our adventure.
Europe for 11 weeks - Planning, Planning, Planning There are at least 2 types of travelers - The Planners and The Spontaneous. Planners certainly ensure that everything posted, blogged, reviewed or promoted has been looked at and a schedule is developed. However they sort of live the holiday before they get there…….. Those erring towards the spontaneous sometimes miss a few things but get to light up like a kid in a lolly shop, seeing many things for the first time ever. I am married to a dedicated, focused, leave nothing to chance planner. Whilst sometimes (okay a bit more than sometimes) annoying it means I will soon get to experience the fruits of 24 months of planning :)
