he did stay in the bed after i put it back down ;w;
before anyone’s like “gimme da baby” I will happily share the baby
While I’m at it, I’m really not happy with the way Tumblr is restoring “the innocence of youth” culture to 1990s-purity-ring levels.
It’s somehow transmuted a few good principles–adults shouldn’t have sex with underage people, underage people shouldn’t take part in porn, very young children shouldn’t be exposed to explicit sexuality–into bullshit like:
- All fiction involving underage sexuality, even non-sensationalized written descriptions of the kind of sexual relationships teenagers often have with each other, is child porn
- Sex education that talks about dealing with STIs and pregnancy and rape is okay, but teaching teenagers about sexual pleasure is gross and anyone who does it is probably a pedophile
- People under 18 all find sexuality frightening or offputting and don’t want to be exposed to it (I’m sure some feel that way, but if you think this is a universal or majority thing, wow, you must’ve gone to a very different high school than I did)
- Having adult content somewhere that minors could stumble across it is as bad as going to the playground and pushing it in kindergarteners’ faces
- Even acknowledging the existence of underage sexuality is suspicious, why would you be talking about this if you weren’t some kind of pedophile
It’s tough to talk about this because it immediately puts you in the company of people who really are being creepy about it, but I think it’s important to push back against these things. Young people have sexualities, they aren’t “innocent” and many of them don’t want to be, and it is possible to acknowledge these facts without exploiting them.
As someone who went to a private christian school in Alabama, where they required by law to give us sex ed, but no laws said what had to be COVERED in that sex ed, the second point is legitimately terrifying for me to see pushed in supposedly liberal circles. That sort of thing can be and normally is deeply traumatizing for kids and teenagers, when their only exposure to the concept of sex is negative consequences.
It’s uncomfortable to talk about because, like op said, it’s difficult to know how to talk about it well with kids. It’s a tricky line to walk. But it can be walked, and coming down so hard on the side of just traumatizing children “away” from sex doesn’t work and is harmful for kids. We know this. We have so many studies about this.
THIS SO MUCH.
Teenagers are very interested in sex. It’s super common and teenagers who are interested in exploring their sexuality aren’t deviant or perverted or “need to be protected” or what not. They need to be be able to have a safe way to explore it and talk about it.
And yes, figuring out who should be “trusted” to talk to them about it can be hard. But honestly, from personal experience, the culture of it being taboo to the extent it is is way more damaging.
And I’m saying this as someone who WAS groomed as a teenager by an adult I met online. Who threatened to kill me after we started “dating”. And I’m very glad I got out of that before it got worse due to my parents finding out about it.
BUT. Their solution [to that and a couple other things] was to send me to an intensive inpatient mental health treatment center that turned that grooming and abuse around on me and tried to make it out to be my fault. I was basically told that I was a sex addict at 16. Because I’d fooled around with multiple guys.
I was a teenager interested in sex in a religious household. In retrospect, I was interested in sex a completely normal amount. There were parts of how I was going about it that were unhealthy, definitely. But because of my home life, I couldn’t really talk to anyone about the particulars of my dating life, so when things with my first BF went south, I was basically walking blind. And that’s how I ended up getting taken advantage of.
And honestly the “treatment” I got fucked up how I relate to sex and relationships more than the actual abuse/grooming from the creep.
Please send asks about why nuclear is the safest, cleanest, and most sustainable energy source available today.
>tfw that’s steam
Those are cooling towers. Water leaving the generators at a power plant is still pretty hot, and it would majorly decrease the efficiency of the plant to send it back to the reactor/boiler/what have you. So they have to cool it down before it can be sent back through the system.
A lot of power plants take care of this by being situated near a source of water - a river, a lake, a bay. They take in cool water from the source and run it through a heat exchanger to cool the water already in the system, and then dump the now-warm cooling water back out into the source.
However, some power plants don’t have that option. Nuclear plants, for example, are frequently built away from natural bodies of water to prevent a release of radiation from becoming an ecological catastrophe. So instead they use cooling towers.
These towers use air instead of water to bring things back to a reasonable temperature. Their shape is intended to take in cool air at the bottom and accelerate it upwards as it heats, producing a constant draft. Inside, the water is sprayed over a special mesh or sponge-like structure designed to keep the draft in contact with the water as long as possible, thus increasing the amount of heat transferred. A small amount of the water also boils away, taking more heat with it and causing the plume of condensation you see rising above the tower.
Another point about nuclear plants specifically: the cooling water being run through those towers is kept radiologically isolated from the water that runs through the core. So the water that’s evaporating is only about as radioactive as wherever it was sourced from. No radiation escapes during normal operation.
So yeah. Next time someone shows you a picture like this and whines about how we’re polluting, now you can kindly point out that it’s merely steam rising from those stacks and they need to take their bullshit elsewhere.
I remember first starting Obey Me and they let me do 10 pulls free.
Now that I hear about this 100 free vouchers I feel... pretty salty about it ngl. Like this would have been a great opportunity to bring back some of the players who were starting to drift from the game and it was wasted.
:/
Not gonna yell about it but like... that hurts dude
7.26.20, DC
DC protests have continued for 2 months nonstop against police violence and for Black Lives. Despite having a population greater than Vermont or Wyoming, DC’s statehood remains controversial among Republicans who can’t keep control of the government without multiple forms of voter suppresion.
Same in Portland and Seattle
and NYC.
And Atlanta
Protests have continued in Chicago and Louisville too, but with less media coverage since they’re not as white as Portland and national media has a NY bias
"Tumblr users who weren't here before the porn ban..." bro we were all here before the porn ban. No one new has joined.
That's because it's the porn that used to lure them in
nazis really bad at taking the hint
reminder that this guy regularly posts gore of women under #foul so flag and block
this chud has moved to @clungedestroyer3 btw, report and block etc
I'm not about to make another long ass post or do another GFM bc it's actually psychologically draining and I've posted enough. Just a reminder that the case has been going on for an year and my sister and her husband are broke with no idea how to pay this bill that's accumulated from trying o protect black children. If black lives matter, black girls must matter.
Go to paypal.me/womminist and type in the amount. Since it’s PayPal, it's easy and secure. Don’t have a PayPal account? No worries.
the absolute final hearing for this case is August 3rd which means we will owe even more money even though it’s virtual. please help if u can

That one time we got accidentally locked out of the house. I remember that FOR ME it was a fun adventure!
This is Adam Erickson, pastor at the Clackamas United Church of Christ in Milwaukee, Oregon!
Oh finally. A real Christian.
Now THIS man’s read the book
This made me so happy
Hell yeah
this heathen respects one lamb of god.
I’m not Christian but that man is doing it right.
For my little sister to get a new service dog that can actually accommodate her needs, it's going to cost $10,500.
American "Healthcare" is a fucking crime against humanity.
I'm having to watch my little sister decide what parts of her life aren't that important so she can take care of her current service dog until she (the dog) passes, and then get another service dog.
That means possibly months of being unable to do everyday human things like walk from her bed to the bathroom, make herself food, play with her niece and nephew.
Every one of those activities is legitimately dangerous for my sister to perform without active heart rate monitoring and assistance. And her service dog is sick enough that an alert was missed and my sister passed out yesterday for the first time since she got Ellie the service dog. Four years without serious incident. Gone.
I don't know how to make shit like this real for other people. If your activism ignores disability, if your world view doesn't include people with chronic illnesses, you can get right the fuck away from me.
I'm playing zero fucking games about this shit anymore. I will be openly hostile in future to anyone trying to defend the healthcare system as it currently stands. I'm not coming for Doctors on principle, but anyone supporting the current system as the continuing future can get fucked up the ass by a rust covered cactus. This is in-fucking-human.
Hey OP.
This is a real and valid point and something a lot of folks don’t realize about service dogs.
But your sister, specifically....do you think perhaps we could crowdfund the money for her new service animal? That’s no way to live. If all of my followers donated $2 each she’d have her new animal with some left over.
This isn’t the way healthcare should be. But maybe for at least one person we can help RIGHT NOW.
She set up a GoFundMe.
My current service dog, Ellie, has been diagnosed with aggressive Lymphoma and while we … Sarah Stroop needs your support for Sarah’s new se
Well then!
Okay, guys, you know the drill. I’ll throw mine in on payday. In the meantime, let’s do everything we can to get this girl a dog! Her life literally depends on it. REBLOG (likes do nothing), donate a few bucks if you can, spread it far and wide.
