References for my AU Pt.1

The pronouns aren’t indicative of gender, and are just a personal preference of what each individual amongi wishes to be called. Most amongi use 2 sets of pronouns, with other amounts being uncommon but not unheard of. The she/her set came from the original shifter language and was only used to refer to the „queen“ of a colony, which is why Green only uses it for beans who have bloomed. All amongi are still agender/intersex in my AU.

Most amongi have a given name that can either be a more specific shade of their color, or something that is the same color as them. These names are usually only used when there’s two or more colors of the same rank. If there are two or more colors of different ranks, then they’ll usually just be called [Title] *Colour.* White usually uses other amongi‘s given names regardless, unless they’re above him.

Traditionally, imposters are named after fungi, bacteria, viruses, and diseases, while crewmates are named after weather, animals, food, plants, and rocks. Most of White‘s family - as well as other MIRA higher ups - have crewmate names to avoid suspicion. Orange chose xer name when xe was around 17, but xer legal name is a string of numbers, and xe didn’t have a name before MIRA „adopted“ xer.

this morning I was thinking . so much . about lime and purple and yellow i just. auuhg. ihave so many thoughts. so very many. i need to figure out how to articulate this Just. the way lime is close to both of them but one relationship is doomed to fail while the other is destined to align.

With lime and yellow either they're both dead or both alive, it doesn't matter what happens, fate finds a way to make sure they're together. Even if it means they both need to die.

With lime and purple they're opposing forces, peace and war, forced apart, one of them needs to die. In spite of that death, they will stay, haunting the other. Thinking abouthow . yellow and purple are opposite on the color wheel. thinking about how lime as a color is far, far closer to yellow than it ever will be to purple.

Direct continuation from my other comic. No shading or texture. I was originally going to do more panels, but these two alone took 14 hours, so…

*Gasp! A pronoun other than they/them! I’m going to make a post later explaining my view and reasoning on pronouns that I’m using in my AU (here). I still refer to the canon characters (and others‘, unless otherwise specified) as they/them, so please put down your pitchforks.

W: Hey Sevi, I saved you the visor!

O: SHHH! Not so loud! Everyone else is in the cafeteria, they don’t need to hear.

W: Oh, right. Sorry.

Unfriendly Reminder

Green’s whole village saved up to send them to space so they could train to become a captain, knowing that they would get no pay for their work initially, and that there would be one less crewmate to help on the farms.

When they finally get on the Skeld for the first time, they are offered the opportunity to fly the ship, but watch as their life dream is literally snatched out of their hands by an entitled nepo baby who doesn’t even care about flying a ship and doesn’t think it’s a big deal. Said nepo baby then causes the ship to crash into an asteroid, badly damaging the ship and…

Spoilers under the cut

…killing them. If the first episode is time accurate, then Green was on the Skeld for 5 minutes and 32 seconds before they died.

5 minutes.

Their entire village saved up beans that could’ve otherwise fed them or paid for medicine so Green could spend 5 minutes on a ship. We all know MIRA sure as hell didn’t refund them.

Also, NO ONE KNEW THEY DIED. There’s a possibility that they still don’t know they died. MIRA‘s going to cover their arses by saying that Green was always a murderer, and will likely make the village pay compensation to the families of the rest of the crew.

Furthermore, since ghosts are canon, Green probably had to watch - or at least knew of - the orgy scene. Their body was being used by a murderous alien to have sex, and the alien also (probably) made up stuff about them being a zoophile. Imagine how utterly humiliating that would be, especially since everyone else believed the alien.

Oh, and yeah, aforementioned murderous alien also used their body to kill people. White, Blue, Brown, and Cyan all thought Green was a murderer for a brief period of time, and even if they realized that Green hadn’t actually been the one to kill them, they probably wouldn’t be too comfortable around them as ghosts.

Yellow and Black would probably be uncomfortable around them, and Lime is Lime, so the only person Green would have to talk to would be Orange.

In summary:

Green’s village saved up for them to go to space, likely crippling their village financially.

Green was killed by the bean who treated their life’s dream like nothing after 5 MINUTES of being on the Skeld and no one knew.

It would have been hell to be a bystander to their own body and watching their murderer sexually abuse their body and kill.

After they died, they would only have one person to talk to, with everyone else likely avoiding them.

SIMPLE GUIDE:

Body Horror: Things that cannot happen in real life. EX: The Thing, stomach mouths, eyes on hands, etc

Gore: Fresh injuries, often severe. EX: Severed leg, gutspill, deep gashes, etc

NEITHER: Healed injuries and burns, congenital differences, missing appendages, etc. If I could theoretically go to the store and see that character browsing the isles- It isn't body horror or gore. That's just a person. *AND the amount of people that tag, not just fictional characters, but real human beings as body horror is staggering. Its not solely a fandom issue, ableism and bigotry against anyone that looks sufficiently "different" is prevalent in real life and has devastating consequences.
