im on s3 of animal kingdom. it was my theory that like pope and smurf didnt like billy (deran's dad) bc maybe he got julia hooked on h, or like did something to her... (like not to get conspiracy, but i dont think it's far off what the show could do u know. plus it would validate why smurf didnt like julia that much. because it made her realise that like pope cared about julia more. he literally said that julia was the only person back then who treated him normally. not like a charity case to tip toe around, or as a tool to be used like smurf does. and also in some sick way, maybe smurf was jealous of julia bc it also told her that other people (sick sick horrible people) would like julia more even as a child)
