🚩 “You? A sweet kitty who probably manicures his nails at the salon?” The thief cooed playfully, leaning back in the seat with tail patting the cushions. “I bet you think being bad is going to Chinese restaurant and not using chop sticks.” He patted but leaned in, hoping for a lead to where to sneak into for some info on whomever had the competition around the neck. Krom and Wrecks… well… one of the two already retired from the game as for the other.. maybe there was something the coon could work with. Put a tracer on him and listen.
“If you say so~” He hadn’t had fun teasing another person since he thwarted another villain. Doing so in the company of a feline with better morals was nicer though. Sly didn’t care for the trophy or whatever it was the winner received. He needed to take what he could from the master mind and book it. Soon, their order arrived and the coon drank his chocolate coated drink quickly, scooting the basket of onion rings for the cat. “Don’t think I can’t hear your stomach.”
“I didn’t manicure..not until I got into the RGP, at least...” Tag grinned. He didn’t want to make this his sob story; he didn’t want to tell the other racer about how much debt that him and Miles had accumulated. That they lived out of a garage. That racing had been his everything -- that it had saved him, maybe, from a darker path. “What can I say? They make my claws look nice and sharp for the cameras!”
He took a handful of onion rings and scooped them into his mouth. “So what are you in it for? The money? The fame? The nice outfits...?” he winked, swallowing. “...’cause, from how you describe me, I guess you see yourself as the bad boy. Too cool for the race, maybe?” he teased.
hey everyone please go follow my zico blog at @flockwctchman i’d really appreciate it!!

🚩 Reminded the hunger in his stomach by another low growl, the disguised thief added a plate of onion rings before the server left. A large order for sharing and that race really left him starved. Tag’s smiles, soft laughter and assuring words caused the coon to wonder if his charms worked on the big cat while turning his gaze towards the crowd of people chattering about in the bar. New job meant new environment and new faces. It was always best to not get too attached to anyone but given his state of isolation, he couldn’t help but make friends. “You’re a darling too, huh? Good advice, though, thanks.” Sly paused in thought. “Alright, here’s a question. Know of any places which are off limits~?” He smirked. “In case you haven’t noticed, I’m a bit of a troublemaker.”
At the mentioning of the word sponsors, the coon shut his muzzle with a hand around it. Sponsorship would help with the repairs and other costs but he didn’t need it. “What? You think they can’t handle my mouth? Come on, this is an edgy race competition, sure someone out there wants an equally edgy racer.” But he ended that note with another laugh as he didn’t see himself as being that extreme. He jabbed the tiger’s shoulder in a friendly manner, happily spotting their drinks come along with the rings. “You’ve been here longer than me, so go ahead. I’ll let you come in first.”
His appetite was getting pretty sizable too. Between the pre-conference, preparations and training, the race itself, and the post-conference, Tag hadn’t had much time to eat. And his stomach was not the kind to let him forget it -- he felt a twinge of hunger shoot through him. “I try to be -- can be a bit of a bad boy too, though, when I wanna be. Just...enough of that going on around here, already...” he explained. He chuckled at Sly’s last comment. Case in point.
“I’m sure there are! There’s a reason guys like Krom and Wrecks got work in the RGP. Always room for some edgy attention-getters. but it takes all types, to make an interesting season...!” he grinned. “You’ll let me?” Tag chuckled, glancing from his hand to his face, “That won’t be a problem, trust me. Last season I got second. Time season I’m going for the gold!”

i admire people who could’ve turned cold after everything they’ve been through but still chose love anyway. there’s strength in that
🚩 “Takes one to know one, huh?” Brows perked with a gentle scoff. Yeah, the raccoon was definitely new to the racing scene but by no means new to competition. But he didn’t let his confidence get to his head. Leaning back against the seat, arm resting high on the booth, the rookie flicked his tail beside him and stared through his dark lens. “With being fresh in the league, I don’t think I have … the right to ask anyone yet.”
Grin curled but on the inside, Sly felt the tiger’s passion for the race in full. As if sharing a piece of the Rimba culture with him. He almost thought it a shame he wouldn’t stick around long enough - he had a job to do. “I didn’t fucking expect a heartfelt answer.” Ok, he needed chocolate to get this bitterness out, now. “Guess it is meant to be for you, Tag.” Thankfully, a server appeared and the raccoon ordered a mudslide with onion rings. “That Axle… yeah, he seems to be stuck up and keep to himself. Hope one of us takes the championship away from him.”
“Yeah, it does...” Tag smiled, mirroring the gesture of the racer across from him. He was a hard one to read; confident and cocky, but not as cold as Axle of cruel as Krom. Maybe it was his nervousness, as a first time racer, that made him seem so overconfident. Though, truthfully, Tag then had to wonder if he had been the same way. “You can ask anything, man, as long as you ask them to the right people. Some people won’t give you the time of day. Me? You can ask me anything...” he said, with a widening grin.
“Language!” Tag chuckled, shaking his head. “Damn, man, you’re gonna scare off your sponsors if you keep swearing like a sailor...” he advised, shrugging. He ordered a beer off tap; simple, inexpensive. “Axle? He’s...yeah, he’s like that. And I hope so too! Mostly hoping I do, I gotta admit.”
