I once impulsively bought a poetry book without even opening it (big mistake, don’t know what I was thinking) and it kinda sucks pretty bad but I’ve turned it into an art journal and any of my friends are welcome to do whatever they want with it and we just keep it on our coffee table and I kind of adore it now
here’s a couple of my favorite pages (bottom artwork done by @the-stars-will-do-the-telling)
and a few more (left 2 also by @the-stars-will-do-the-telling that talented mf)
sometimes u gotta just gotta put on some folk music and paint some flowers ya kno? (far right is, ofc, @the-stars-will-do-the-telling)
I am fully aware that this doesn’t look like thistle OR rockrose but this IS based on the song The Rockrose and the Thistle by The Amazing Devil. also? I would not recommend embroidering in a book skdkakf
the botanical theme continues! now with pressed flowers gathered from my parent’s yard a few weeks ago

Concept: I finish school. The job I work isn’t my dream job but I enjoy doing it greatly still. It pays enough to cover everything I might need. My bills are never overdue. Money is not a thought in my head. I have a place to live. So do my dogs. It is nice and warm, I have some plants, my bookshelves are full, my sheets are always clean. There is time to read at the end of a day. I read a lot. Thinking is a good thing. I meet up with friends regularly, old and new. They love me. We make memories. I have nothing to be ashamed of. I travel a few times a year, always different places. The places I see steal my breath away. The people I meet teach me of life. They are good. There is no war. The sea calls to me and pay visit. I am independent. I am content.
we are such a sad generation. the dream is a modest and decent life.
And still, it feels unattainable.
You know? I actually prefer to think of it as regaining sanity after all the delusions of grandeur older generations had. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a normal, decent life with just enough, and tbh it’s their fault we think there IS something wrong with it.
being in your 20’s is like “if I can just get through this week I’ll be ok” but every fucking week
Service dogs training to sit through a movie at a theater.
It’s actually better than that - the picture comes from dogs being trained to sit through a PLAY… which means there are actors on the stage performing a musical for a theatre full of dogs.
[image: several rows of theater seats, with at least an ear visible of over a dozen patient dogs.]
i’m a horrible texter but i’m also really bad at talking to people in person so i really have nothing going for me
Swedish native Sophie Mörner and her friends took a day-trip to a park, setting up camp in the woods. Mörner captured the above photo early in the morning, her sleepers made up of friends, acquaintances and a few strangers all basking in the glow of the warming sun. The colors and composition become a painterly tableau, Mörner’s subjects lounging and oblivious as if in an enchanted slumber. For Mörner, the image represents the ultimate relaxation and harmony, lost in the moment to nature
please make sure that wherever you’re at in life, you don’t treat it like a transitory period. don’t waste your college years wishing to already be graduated & have a job. don’t waste your single years wishing for someone to be in love with. if/when those things come, they will come in due time and they will be good. but there is nothing like looking back and feeling empty because you wasted literal years ignoring what you had because you were hoping for something better. while it’s important to better yourself and reach for your goals, don’t neglect the present because that’s where you are now and it’s your now that determines your future.
[ID: Three blocks of color - blue, sky blue, and a pale purple - have text written across them. They say, “your mental health is a priority. your happiness is a priority. your existence is a priority.”]
“In your arms even the silence of death won’t frighten me. In your arms I’ll fall through death as though falling through a dream.”

Sex Education + Fighting toxic masculinity.
One of the few things that actually surprised me the most about this show. I didn’t know which one I loved more: the fact that guys wearing makeup and dresses and nail polish or boys dancing with boys is normalized, or that a majority of the characters were more supportive and accepting of these ideals.
