Update on Fan Cast

Hey everyone! So my followers from the beginning would know about me and @cynthialennon-daily fan cast from long ago, but I’ll fill in the followers who are new.

So awhile back, @cynthialennon-daily and I posted a fan cast for a dream movie about Cynthia Lennon and her life with John, The Beatles, and all that good stuff. We fan casted the boys and their ladies, as well as the other key players in their lives. We posted it up and we received a lot of positive feedback.

However since then, our fancast has changed significantly, and our opinions on who we think could and should play the amazing people differ over time. Since it’s been so long since I’ve done an extensive post up here, I figured this be a good opportunity. You guys deserve it, for being such loyal and awesome followers.

For this post, I’ll be only showing the main four ladies: Cynthia, Pattie, Jane, and Maureen. I’ll be sharing the new fan cast for the lads and the other characters in future posts.

1. Pattie Boyd: Imogen Poots

Our original choice for Pattie was French actress, Lea Seydoux. She’s best known for her roles in “Spectre” and “Midnight in Paris”. And while we still love Lea and think she’s a great actress, we slowly started to fall for Imogen, her beauty, and her acting abilities. There’s somethings out her look that captures that vibrant, youthful, innocent beauty, that Pattie had. She’s extremely versatile in her acting, capable of playing very strong, but also very fragile characters. And her eyes seem to have that same special something that Pattie had. So hypnotic yet full of charm.

2. Jane Asher: Karen Gillan

Karen Gillan was our original choice for Jane, and she has continued to be so. We have looked at other actresses (most of them being natural gingers). But Karen has proven to be our number one choice regardless. A lot of it comes down to personality. Jane Asher was and is still to this day, a highly strong and independent woman, and Karen embodies that to a T. She’s fierce but elegant, strong but good hearted, and that is everything you want in someone who could play this royalty of cinema an theater.

3. Maureen Starkey: Felicity Jones

Maureen really is the hardest lady to cast of the original four Beatle gals. She had such a unique beauty that was totally her own. No one really looks likes her. But you still want an actress who can embody her personality and the warm, friendly nature she had. Ellie Kendrick, best known for her work on “Game of Thrones”, was our original choice. She seemed to get mixed reactions from fans and over time, we considered other actresses. We ended up with Felicity, because she seems to have all the qualities that is needed to portray Maureen. Her beauty is totally her owns, nails the dark hair look, is fabulously British, and a talented actress.

4. Cynthia Lennon: Saoirse Ronan

Let’s make this clear: We LOVE Lily James. But we did receive a lot of mix feelings about her being our choice to portray Cynthia. The reasons varied from minor complaints, to full on serious reasons to consider. So we thought about it for a long time and decided to think of some other actresses who could portray her. And since the idea for our dream movie is for it to be about Cynthia and her book, we really thought long and hard about what actress could truly be good for the role. We got a lot of suggestions, all of them very interesting. I won’t share them here now, because I think they’re extremely interesting to have a post of their own. But at the end, we decided that Saoirse was the right choice. She’s the full package. She’s an amazing actress, brilliant at nailing accents, is the right height and size, and has this mature, tranquil nature, that is perfect for Cynthia. And while we do love Lily, we truly believe Saoirse is the better, stronger, and dare I say, perfect choice.

And there you have it!

Hello my lovely followers. Have you all missed me? I’m sorry I’ve been so inactive on this page. There was once a time where I used tumblr everyday. Now it’s a miracle if I even go and check to see what’s happening.

I’ve been busy with just life in general and Instagram honestly. Most of the content that I work on now is all on Instagram. So if you want to see what I’m doing, it’s best to follow me there. So I follow the Jane Asher tag on instagram and one day a picture popped up that was from the Cynthia Lennon dream movie instagram profile.

I’m not following them (dunno why) but I’m comenting some of the posts… and I would like to THANK THEM because they used some of my suggestions for actresses playing Jane and Mo and I really appreciate that!

Top 10 Favorite Cynthia Lennon/Beatle Fanfics (Part 3: Finale)

Hello lovely readers! It’s finally time to look at the last part of this countdown. Let’s take a look at my top 4, starting with:

Number 4: Borrowed Time: Saving John Lennon

This fanfic can be found on wattpad, and was written by Jjdec8.

This fanfic has been around for awhile and is considered to be one of the best fanfics on John Lennon. The story centers on Holly, this agent who was born on the same day of John’s death. Years later, she’s assigned to travel back in time, befriend John, and ultimately save him from his tragic death. The story is creative, thrilling, exciting, touching, and heartbreaking all at once.

Holly is a great character, and her chemistry with John is fantastic. And the writer does a very good job of making it seem believable that John would believe Holly is from the future, in the way she portrays herself to John. Nothing is ever too far fetched, that if time travel were to ever exist, we could see play out in this way.

We get to see all the other Beatle favorites, as well as the ladies of John’s life. Cynthia is in this story, but she’s not very prominent. However, she’s not portrayed badly, so fans of her don’t have to feel upset about that. Yoko isn’t portrayed with the kindest of eyes, but I would say she’s portrayed realistically. And May Pang is mentioned in this story as well, which is cool, since she’s often not mentioned in Fanfics about John.

Overall, a really great story, and that should be checked out for any Beatle fan, and John Lennon fan.

Number 3: Starting Over

This fanfic is written by wavesofjoy, and can be read on wattpad.

Although I do believe that @luvulikeguitars is the best in writing the chemistry between John and Cynthia, wavesofjoy comes very close. Her story is also another “what if” scenario, in which we see Cynthia throw John and Yoko out her house after catching them in the act. From there, we see John taking the steps to win over Cynthia, and we read the journey they take to rekindle their love.

This story is filled with several romantic moments, all of them great. The chemistry between John and Cynthia is strong and you truly feel the love between them. Paul also plays a role in this story, and he’s written wonderfully. Always the good friend to both John and Cynthia. And you get a few cute moments with Julian.

This was first official fanfic about John and Cynthia that ever truly fell in love with. And perhaps my favorite thing about this story is that it’s written in first person point of view from Cynthia’s perspective. So we really get to see what she’s thinking and how she’s processing everything.

As of now, the fanfic has yet to be completed. But the writer has recently shown interest in coming back to it. So hopefully we’ll get a solid conclusion to this wonderful story.

Number 2: Truth or Dare With The Beatles

This fanfic was written by NJ2001 and can be found on wattpad.

I think for many Beatle fans, this is one fanfic that has some how crossed their path. The premise is quite simple, yet brilliant. John, Paul, George, and Ringo are all alone in a hotel, when they decide to play a little game of truth or dare. From there, it’s just one silly chapter after another of the lads daring each other to do the most ridiculous of things.

I will NOT go into detail of some of the dares that are mentioned in this story, because I would spoil what makes this story work so well. This is perhaps the funniest Beatle fanfic ever written, and it made me laugh out loud sibhard on so many occasions, I just couldn’t help but rank it up so high.

But in all seriousness, although the story is silly and the author exaggerates many things for comedic affect, they also have a great understanding of who each of the Beatles are, and what their personality is like. With each dare and truth that is brought up, you see how it reflects says Beatle and how it makes sense for them to do whatever they do in the context of the story.

It’s definitely not the deepest story on this list. But I think it sums up akir id what made The Beatles so amazing. And the spirit of this story in many ways reflects the joy and happy go lucky spirit of the group. Abd that’s why I love it.

And finally...

Number 1: Welcome To The Overpool Hotel

This story was written by leah9712 and is found on wattpad.

They say that imitation is the best form of flattery, and this fanfic is a true symbol of that. Heavily inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining”, the story is about how Brian and the dudes decide to take a weekend to relax at a beautiful hotel. They bring along their significant others, and they’re all excited because they literally have the entire hotel all to themselves.

At first, everything starts off fine. But slowly, the Gaby begins to notice something is wrong with Brian. Something VERY WRONG. And they begin to realize that the hotel may not be so beautiful after all. And with little to no communication to the outside works and literally in the middle of nowhere, the gang is unsure of what to do, or how to get out of this horrifying situation...alive...

This story is AMAZING! The author is great at capturing everything that made “The Shining” such a chilling horror story and pays so many homages to it throughout the story. While it may seem like such a weird story to mix with The Beatles, it actually works so well. It’s interesting to see the dudes in such a horrible situation. But you still see their personalities jump off the page. John is the leader who tries to act brave, even when he’s terrified. Paul is the cheeky and sassy pretty boy, and John’s best friend. George is the layback but underrated hilarious one, who can show sass from time to time. And Ringo is the wellmeaning dogooder, who tries to help his friends. And they all get a chance to shine.

But the ladies also play a huge part in this story as well. Cynthia fans will be happy to read some great moments between her and John. Pattie and Maureen are actually the stand outs in this story, especially Maureen. They have such great one liners abd fun moments throughout the story. And as for Jane...let’s just say fans of her will find this story very intriguing.

And of course, there’s Brian. Dear, dear Brian. This story definitely takes him to some extreme abd frightening places. Some might find it unnerving (and in many ways it is). But there’s no denying his moments make this story so fun to read. Every scene with him just makes your skin crawl with fear. And I love it!

Totally go read this fanfic if you haven’t all ready! You will not regret it!

Top 10 Favorite Cynthia Lennon/Beatle Fanfics (Part 2)

Hello! Here’s part two of the countdown! Enjoy.

Number 7: In My Life, I Love You Most

In My Life, I Love You Most was written by Fiendish Thingy and can be read on wattpad.com.

This fanfic is about John and Cynthia’s marriage from the early days of The Beatles career, to essentially the end. Unfortunately, the writer has not finished the story, so it’s been incomplete for some time now. However, what has been written is very good.

One thing I like about this fanfic is how the writer manages to convey the strong love between John and Cynthia, and also showing us how their marriage makes them better people. Since it’s essentially a rewrite of history, we get to see a healthier marriage for the couple. For starters, John admits to his affairs much earlier to Cynthia, and even stops fooling around. And Cynthia is a slightly stronger character, going as far as to tell a guy off when they insult her husband.

The writer is great at writing the couples chemisrty. And they’re also good at pinpointing important moments of history and having them work into the narrative of the story. I really hope one day the writer finishes this story. It’s clear that’s it’s not even close to done. But for what it is, it’s really great.

Number 6: India: The Passing Day

How could I make a list of my favorite fanfics of Cynthia and The Beatles, and NOT give a shout out to my dear friend @cynthialennon-daily 😆

In all seriousness though, I love this fanfic. Written by Lovelyrita (aka @cynthialennon-daily )and can be read on wattpad.com, India: The Passing Day is one of the more unique Cynthia Lennon fanfics out there. Where most fanfics about her relationship with John either take place at the beginning or at the end, this one focuses specifically during that hard and awakward point in their marriage that took place in India.

Like most fanfics, it’s a rewrite of history. But it’s not the kind of rewrite you would think. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone who hasn’t yet read it. But I can say it’s different from most fanfics about Cynthia and it’s definitely worth the read. Also, we get to meet knew characters in this story that help Cynthia become a stronger person. We even get to enjoy some of the other key people from that trip, especially Jane Asher. And Yoko also appears in this story, but in a way that pro John and Cynthia fans would be surprised at.

Go check it out! You won’t be sorry.

Number 5: Across The Universe

Across The Universe was written by luvulikeguitars and can be read on wattpad.

Most Beatle tumblr fans would perhaps know who @luvulikeguitars is. They’ve written a few fanfics, and all of them are John and Cynthia centered. I would say that of all the writers on this list, they are the best in capturing the chemistry between the couple. Although most of her fanfics tend to have a toxic edge to their relationship, Across The Universe is not like that.

This rewrite of history has John get shot earlier in his life, rather than later. But instead of dying, he is only injured. And this near death experience triggers him and Cynthia to make things work out between them again. It has a lot of heartbreaking moments, but also some beautiful ones as well. Also, we do get a little bit of Yoko in this story. And even though this is not a fanfic that’s pro John and Yoko, I would say it portrays her more human here than most pro John and Cynthia fanfics have.

We also get a few cute young Julian moments, particularly one that had me laugh so hard. Sadly, this fanfic is technically incomplete as well. However, the last chapter that it left off at is pretty satisfying, that if this were the definitive ending, I don’t have any huge complaints. An over wonderful fanfic.

Top Ten Favorite Cynthia Lennon/Beatle Fanfics

Hi everyone! It’s been so long since my last post. My apologies for the absence. But fear not! I have not gone. I’ve merely been busy. I’ve been working on a fanfic of my own and that’s taken a lot of my time. Plus, real life is busy enough.

But speaking of fanfics, I thought it would be cool if I made a countdown list of the few Beatle/Cynthia Lennon related fics I have read. Now keep in mind, these are the fanfics that I personally like the most. This is strictly subjective, not objective. Although I will say the top 3 choices are ones I think every Beatle fan should read (but that’s just my opinion). And since I am a Cynthia Lennon fan, a lot of the fics that I chosen are based around her.

As usual, this list will be divided into parts. This is part one of the countdown, which will cover choices 10-8. So, I hope you enjoy as always.

Number 10. Wishful Beatle History & Cynthasized

This one shot fanfic can be found on archiveofyourown.org and the author is called jbeakers.

The plot of Wishful Beatle History: During a recording session, Ringo Starr finally loses his patience with John, Paul, and Yoko, and speaks out about the problems they’ve been having a a band. I haven’t seen many fanfics centered on Ringo. It’s unfortunate, since he was an important member of the group. And this fanfic really drives home that point.

We actually see Ringo snap and address the issues that are driving him crazy, as well as put John, Paul, and Yoko in their place. This fanfic also gives George some light as well. Ringo let’s George say and thing or two, knowing he is being affected by the issues as well. It’s nice to see these two Beatles get a chance to really shine, since most fanfics are usually about Paul and John. At the end, the writer still shows that despite his anger, Ringo is still caring and loves his mates. And because if his love, that he decides to voice his opinions.

Number 9. Dear Daddy....The Completed Story

This fanfic can be found in wattpad.com and was written by micmat.

Dear Daddy...The Completed Story is a heartfelt fanfic written in the style of letters written by Julian to his father. The fanfic stretches out to the years of 1968-1980, as we see the slow evolution of Jon and Julian as father and son. Other characters included in this fanfic are Paul, Cynthia, and even little Sean.

But at its core, this is really a Julian fanfic, as we see his complicated feelings for his father go through many highs and lows. At times he loves him. Other times he hates him. And sometimes he doesn’t know what to think of him. The writer is wonderful that delving inside young Julian Lennon’s head, and showing us what he must have thought at several point in his life. They also do a great job portraying John’s feelings for his son, showing us that despite his failures as a father, he truly loved Julian.

The writer does take a few liberties in some of the details that occurred in real life, for the sake of dramatic purposes. But it’s nothing so big that it takes away from the story. If anything, it only adds to it. It’s a great fanfic. Emotional and heartbreaking, and very beautiful.

Number 8. I Love Lovely Cynthia

I Love Lovely Cynthia is a one shot fanfic, written by Pineapple Heart, and can be found on quotev.com.

The basis of this fanfic is extremely simple. Basically, during a band practice, a young John Lennon gets extremely embarrassed when young Paul, George, and Stuart Sutcliffe, find a love letter for Cynthia, and they begin to read it and make fun of him. The letter that they are reading is of course, the now famous Christmas letter John wrote to Cynthia in 1958. Since the letter is mostly John saying “I love you” a hundred times, it makes sense why thexdydes would laugh at him for that.

John has always been an intriguing person, and therefore writing stuff about him is equally entertaining and challenging. He was very sarcastic and funny, but aslo sensitive and sweet. And this fanfic does a good job of show how hard it is for John to express his soft side in public, and being really embarrassed when his feelings are brought to the forefront. Plus, it’s rally cute and funny. Teehee!

The saddest thing...

…is when DJ Andy Peebles returned to London (after conducting the very last interview with John Lennon before his murder in 1980), he was invited to AIR studios by George Martin. when he walked in he found Paul MCCartney waiting. Peebles says they they both became very emotional. Paul needed only one question answered by one of last people to speak to John, “Did he still love me?”

Peebles assured him that he did.

Hey everyone. So I’ve been working on my very first Beatle/John and Cynthia fan fiction! I’m very excited to share it with you all when I’m done. After such a long time of reading other fanfics and becoming inspired, I finally summed up the courage to write one of my own. I hope you all will like it.

Once again I want to apologize for not posting up as much as before. I’ve been busy and now with the Instagram I tend to have more time to pics up there.
