Canvas Head Tips
Canvas Head Tips
How to measure you head and why?
Measuring your canvas head is the most important step when using the canvas head. The head measurement will determine what size canvas head you will need. The sizes of canvas heads range from 20” to 24”.
To measure your head it is recommended that you use a cloth tape measure. You will wrap the measuring tape around your forehead and behind your ears. Make sure it is wrapped around tightly for an accurate measurement.
How to apply the Cap and the importance of T-pins?
When applying the wig cap to your canvas head you must place the cap on the canvas head. Pulling down each side of the cap until you see a flat surface surrounding the entire cap. Allowing bumps or ridges in your cap will create complications when you begin to create your wig.
T-pins are hair pins that will assist in keeping your wig cap secure when you pull and move your wig cap around while making your wig. Insert a T-Pin on each corner of the wig cap. For this you will only need 4-6 T-Pins. T-pins will save your life while making the wig because not only will it hold the wig cap in place. They also can hold your tracks while you’re trying to sew them onto the wig cap. You simple stretch the hair across the area where you want to sew it. Place the T-pins in the center and end of the track and you won’t have to hold it in place and you can focus on sewing the track properly.
