if a white man winning an award for a mediocre performance in a flop movie that came out damn near two weeks ago doesn’t show you just how racially biased the media STILL is then idk what will.

mbj worked his ass off, so much so that people on this app adores his performance as the twins. (people even have a PREFERRED twin, that goes to show how skilled he is as an actor that we could differentiate between smoke and stack without doing too much).

anyway congrats to miles caton for best young actor! excited to see him in future works congrats to ryan cooglar for winning best original screen play too. the movie soo damn good it got me writing fanfiction for it loll 🤎🤎🤎

The same company behind the Golden Globes also owns Variety so when Sinners got snubbed in the major categories, it wasn’t a surprise to me. They didn’t televise their “Best Score” award and they couldn’t erase the film’s impact at the box office, so they handed it the one award that couldn’t be argued with. That “Cinematic and Box Office Achievement” award felt less like recognition and more like a “here damn y’all got the numbers but don’t expect us to respect the artistry of the film.”
