so ive been getting into metaphysics lately (the study of the human spirit), and some of you may find interesting that it fully supports using fiction as a form of catharsis. since it states there is a clear distinction between enjoying a fictional character dwelling in the darkness of his own human consciousness, versus being the person who actually executes those actions in real life.

in simple terms: its encouraged by these teachers to use fiction as a method to 'explore' the darkness that exists within the collective human mind and from there, explore if that's something you'd like to replicate in real life. if that's not something you'd like, then it means you simple enjoy the narrative or certain dynamics and it doesn't make you a bad or shameful person.

this is for anyone here who might be struggling with moral OCD or shame due to interests in fiction.
