momma’s boy munson is on my mind again. his mom being such a staple in his life. who he talks to when he needs advice, to rant, or just needs company. who comforts him with such gentleness and love, that he feels 5 years old again.

she presses kisses to his forehead when she leaves and he does the same when he’s older. and maybe she passes away suddenly when he’s 16—at the peak of him trying to figure himself out. what he wants to do in life. and suddenly he’s more lost then ever.

his rock is gone and he can’t see the shoreline. he feels like sharks are swarming him at every angle, nipping at him like fresh meat.

and all he wants is his mom.

if they had to shave eddie’s head after the bats, it would send him spiraling even further than realizing he’s still alive. he doesn’t know it happens till he wakes after a few weeks, hair either in the way of a wound or it ended up matted to high hell from dried blood & goo.

because the last time he had a bald head, it was against his will, much like this time too, it seems. it’s like the part of his autonomy that took him so long to reclaim, has been stripped away again.

werewolf steve is the whiniest dog.

eddie shuts the bathroom door on him & he’s scratching outside crying. he’ll pathetically lick his bowl clean of crumbs when he’s hungry. he’ll suffocate eddie when it’s bedtime or he wiggles around till he’s, at least, completely on top of him.

idk werewolf steve who is just a dog 40% of the time and human the other 50%. or a weird hybrid/actual werewolf the last 10.

the way Steve “has never won a fight in his life” Harrington handled the demobats & how big he is, muscle wise, tells you that he probably practiced his fighting and self-defense skills in between seasons.

the guy has seen so much terror and monsters (human or otherwise) in the last 3 years. he knows the upside down will come back, and he needs to be prepared and able to protect his family.

he has an extremely disciplined routine of workouts, activities and diet. its a 24/7 thing. it’s obsessive. even if he should take a day off, he’ll still push himself, normally till he collapses.

it’s self-destructive. even when Robin tries to reason with him, all he thinks of is how he wasn’t able to protect her from the russians.

at a certain point it becomes too much for his body and mind, and Robin, who has been trying to stop him for over a month, just holds him as he lets out all his fears and anguish. his desire to protect everyone and his doubt he’ll be able too.

Robin listens, and finally when he can’t get anymore words out, just asks him, “but who’s protecting you?”

they hold each other, breathing in the other’s presence as tears streak down their faces, for a long while. Steve let’s Robin protect him. take care of him.
