Queerbait specifically is about marketing by hinting at possibility of queerness but without the intent to commit to it.
Suletta and Miorine get engaged in the very first episode and are 3 years married by the end of the show. The work is queer. What Bandai did was the opposite because they wanted to hint at the possibility of Guel being a maleprotag who could potentially get together with the girls.
