Some headcanons for Butch Cassidy [Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kids]
While it isn't shown onscreen, Butch absolutely can and sometimes does get hurt by his impulsive stunts. Often times needing to be mended by Wally or brought to a hospital. He's definitely called out for this, whether it be by the other Sundance Kids or even Mr. Socrates himself.
Speaking of which, although he doesn't outwardly show it, Butch is genuinely terrified of failing a mission or letting Mr. Socrates down. He didn't have the best upbringing and with Mr. Socrates being the only positive father figure he has, Butch absolutely wants to make sure everything goes to plan, which ironically does lead to a lot of his more reckless actions. He has never told anyone, not even Wally [who Butch usually confides in if he's having fears, worries, or doubts] about this as he worries about how they might react. This is part of the reason Butch defended Wally in The Parrot Caper.
Son of Ace Decade, half-brother to Alex Super and Bella Decade [OC]. Ace... wasn't the best father. Being very emotionally distant and sometimes even verbally cruel to Butch, Ace has abundantly made it clear to Butch that he's the black sheep and would often dump him on studio personnel whenever it was his turn to take care of Butch. Alex, on the other hand, was absolutely the golden child of Ace, which also led to problems for Alex [his desperation to stand out, and him not exactly being a very confident leader]. Ace left Bella's mom just a few years after Bella's birth, and didn't visit, so she has no real memories of him. Ironically, Butch, Alex, and Bella were unaware of each other. While Butch was initially hesitant to meet Alex [as well as resentful for the entire situation] and Bella, he did eventually bond with them and is basically the protective big brother mentor figure, even if Alex is only a couple of months younger then Butch.
Butch still has nightmares of the time he almost fell off the Eiffel Tower [Mystery On The Orient Express], and briefly had a period where he was suspicious of any new Worldwide Talent Agency agents. Butch also sometimes has nightmares of when he was nearly crushed [Road Racers].
Collects stuffed animals, specifically teddy bears, as he likes the nostalgia factor as well as how soft they are.
He's fond of Westerns, but will not admit it due to the association with the outlaw Butch Cassidy.
Speaking of which, Butch was bullied because of his name when he was little [and Ace didn't even try to help him. His mom did try to comfort him but it didn't work] and spent a good portion of his childhood being shy and lonely. However, after defending Wally from bullies, the two became friends. Wally then introduced Butch to Steffy and Merilee.
Within the other Mystery Solving groups, Butch gets along well with Fred [despite the two sometimes butting heads due to Butch's plans being completely impulsive while Fred's are more well thought-out], Mark, Ted, Henry Chan, Biff [both Jabberjaw Biff and Fangface Biff. Wish they had last names so it'd be easier to differenciate the two in writing], and surprisingly Mickey [The New Shmoo] and Skip [The Funky Phantom].
His favorite books are usually action and sci-fi, but he also enjoys relaxing books and emotional/sad books.
DESPISES GETTING SICK. He gets so upset and frustrated when it happens and desperately wants to be able to do something to help when it happens. Mr. Socrates allowed Butch to communicate to the others via the ring if they had to go on a mission without him and would also often let the Sundance Kids stay behind to help Butch recover.
He doesn't want the other Sundance Kids getting hurt [hence why he impulsively tries to go after the bad guys] and is perfectly willing to physically fight villains to protect them. And this also goes for his half-siblings and the other Mystery Solving groups.
