What is there to truly live for?

Well, there are the trees. The leaves fall to the ground with sophisticated beauty, twirling in the wind and landing at our feet so we may find joy in crunching them under the soles of our boots.

And there is the sun, setting and rising and bringing new day after new day with wicked blue skies and a dusting of coral that seeps through the cracks in the curtains to remind us there is beauty in life and living.

Now don’t forget the waves, of an ocean so vast and deep we do not truly know what is in it - but what beauty is there in knowing when we can imagine for ourselves?

There are many things to live for and love for and all we have to do is open our eyes and take a breath.

I chose myself. After all this time and all this anguish, I finally chose myself. I am scared. But I am finally free.

Eyes are the windows to the soul, able to scream what we cannot speak…but only if those eyes are not as dead as our hearts may feel.

To love is to drown in the blood that pours from your soul as you lay bare amongst the earth

If to love is to lay my soul bare and be one with the earth I would crawl beneath the dirt.

I stare as I bleed and I wonder if God is sneering at me from above, waiting for me to kneel with bloodied knees as I beg for an answer to all this pain.

Fragments of my soul will melt away to a pile of blood on the floor, and I stare into my bleeding reflection with eyes that cannot emote.

I bare my teeth to the divine and challenge them to a duel of emotion. I am certain I have dealt with more than they can bear.

I listen to the ghosts of my childhood with a disdain I should never have learnt so young.

Puppets on a string we dangle in the air with bleeding wrists and watch the world below us. We cannot stop time from passing.

I take my luck and sneer back at God with a fury in my veins that burns me where I stand. I will create my own destiny.
