i feel like the recent random promotion of TNM S2 where diego and tom have been paired up and pushed as the main actors to do interviews and public talks and photoshoots... so what i'm putting down is diego will be back in S3 in the sense that their chemistry was so fab and so unexpectedly pulled in many people to watch that the showrunners are promoting the current (and upcoming) season mostly with them and therefore we're getting teddy haunting the narrative and pine having dead wife hallucinations/dreams of him and the emotional spiral will be so good oh richard roper you are so fucking cooked 🔥🔥🔥

and this isn't just me being delusional (well i'm lying. 90% of it is delusion BUT... that 10%) but the only character we see pine form an attachment to is teddy, and his ending is very sudden. he was supposed to get his redemption and instead received a bullet to the head. of course many other people help out and even die for pine, but troubled person tied to roper with a beautiful face, a tragic backstory and a conflicted soul (see: jed)? it's different now: jonathan pine wants to be your knight in shining armour so fucking bad.

and then he couldn't fully act on his emotions out of apprehension or shame or realising he doesn't have time to be bisexual right now. this and the fact that the last shot we see of pine is exhausted and Out Of It. So would it be that weird if teddy just popped up every once in a while like Hey Girlllll do you miss me? don't you wanna return the bullet to roper? do you have regrets that our final intimate moment wasn't supposed to be final and there was supposed to be an after and Maybe there would've been a chance to unpack whatever was up with us???

okay rambling over. please let this crazy idea of mine be vaguely true. showrunners please hear me and lock in i am giving you ideas for free.

when pacific rim is brought up around me in a "the jaegars are so epic" way and i have to pretend to be Super Normal about raleigh having felt his brother die mid-drift and having to pull himself and their jaegar singlehandedly back to shore and losing all faith in the world and the existing system and mako losing her family to the kaiju and so she grows up training to be a jaegar pilot even though the man who protected and raised her doesn't want to lose her to the kaiju along with the countless others he sent to their deaths and raleigh and mako having that instant connection (and it's debatable whether they want to kiss crazy styles but there's no time to unpack bc they need to save humanity first) and nothing can break it not pentecost or the asshole australian pilot who won't give them a break or even the fucker aliens that live behind the breach and also the two eccentric (gay) scientists who constantly bicker and butt heads coming to an enthusiastic understanding that they have to drift together with a kaiju brain because if geiszler is gonna do it again who but gottlieb is crazy enough to do it with him and the overall act of drifting itself being so intimate and personal because This is the person that knows Everything about you and now you're gonna go out there and murder some kaijus but you're doing it together because you Need each other and and and

YES YES YES EVERYONE WATCH PACIFIC RIM GET INTO ITTTT YOU GET EPIC FIGHTS AND JAEGARS AND KAIJUS AND THE VFX IS DELICIOUS BUT ALSO. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO EXIST IN A WORLD LIKE THIS???
