“Considering you’re pretty fucking dead, I get why you’ve got the kinda thing going. Why are you here?” Vi couldn’t decide how she felt. She hated how many friends she’d had to bury, but it was almost weirder to have one of them come back. Especially one that she’d lost in such a bizarre way.
“Uh yeah... My uh... my mistake...” He said looking at her nervously. He was ashamed he had killed himself and now he was back and only in a worse hell than he would have been being dead.
superduper-nova:
“I’m going to tell everyone” Nova said, her arms crossed over her ghostly chest. “How could you even come back? Scared of what lied beyond after what you did?”
“I uh... I... Maybe...” Carter didn’t like what she asked him, it seemed far too personal of a question.
misunderstood-badboy:
Marco touched his own chest, making sure something hadn’t killed him and he hadn’t realized. “Yes. I’m not dead.”
“Then uh... You’re alive and I’m uh... I’m dead and that’s that.” He took a deep breath. “I’m glad we uh we got that established.”
i-will-just-keep-swimming:
“Oh,” Dory said, “Yeah I guess that’s true, huh?”
“Uh... yeah.” Carter took a step back. “Am I uh... Am I in your way?” He asked. “I mean, I uh, you can probably walk right through me but uh... Yeah.”
i-will-just-keep-swimming:
“I’m feeling fine,” Dory said, wondering a little bit why he’d asked it that way. That wasn’t how people usually asked how you were doing. “How are you?”
Carter thought for a moment, that was a loaded question. “Dead.” He replied simply looking at her. “I’m uh. I”m dead.”
theres-good-noose-tonight:
“Aren’t you?” He tilted his chin upwards, studying Carter through doubtful eyes. “Carter Quik, it is a dangerous time to not know who you are, and who other people believe you to be.”
“I’m not!” He said exasperated and upset. “I just.. It was self defense! Please... Just... Stop I am not a uh... A killer.”
biancasamouseygirl:
Bianca lightly ran her finger up and down the spine of her journal. A small gasp escaped her when the ghost spoke to her. She had been following and watching it, writing down everything she saw. “No don’t worry I uh,” she slowly closed her book. “I won’t.” If this was who she thought it was it was the boy who was known as a killer throughout Hogwarts. That just made this story more interesting, especially if he did something she could really write about.
Carter watched the girl watching as she wrote. She was saying something about him, he knew it. “What are you uh... What are you doing?” He asked her glancing at her book. “Why-why are you writing things?”
fostermurray:
As the ghost addressed him, Foster smiled easily. He’d just been trying to find a place to hide his things–not the ghost of an ex-classmate, or a known murderer. “Don’t tell anyone? Why would I do that? So you can kill someone else?” He gave the other a quick one over, weighing the benefits of having a ghost under his thumb. Was it worth it? It was hard to threaten someone who was already dead.
Carter was surprised by the anger in the boys voice. “I... Uh... I’m sorry. I just... I didn’t really kill anyone... Not on purpose... Not really. I’m just... I was just scared.”
earsofan-elephant:
Duran had just been exploring when he discovered the pale figure floating in the middle of the hall, recognizing immediately the ghost but not which it was. Perhaps the ghost was new… An exciting, but sad, thought. He had gotten it into his mind to go introduce himself when suddenly the ghost turned to face him, and–Carter. That was unmistakably Carter, who had been one of this closest friends before, who had died during the war, and who, he had heard, hadn’t been a very good person at all. “Carter?”
Carter couldn’t speak when he saw Duran. It had been so long since he had seen the boy and now he was dead. A murderer and dead and he was sure that Duran knew all of that. “Duran.” He said quietly, ashamed that the next time he saw him he was dead. “I uh... I just.. uhm... I...” Carter backed up slowly, a little afraid of what Duran might do. “Hi.”
misunderstood-badboy:
Marco took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. “I um… Are….. A-are you…” He wasn’t sure how to phrase it. In fact, he wasn’t even sure if he should phrase it at all. Was he hallucinating? He had no reason to be unless there was some form of magic at work. Plus, it would have had to be an incredibly vivid one. Finally, he took a deep breath. “Are you a ghost..?” He tried to sound sympathetic, but it probably didn’t work considering how much he was shaking.
“I uh... Yeah.” He lauged a bit looking down at himself. It still hadn’t set in what he was, but yes. He was a ghost. “I guess I’m uh... I am. You’re alive?”

Vi was walking back from the office where John continually buried himself with a small grin on her face. He was an idiot, but she never failed to enjoy discussions with him and that was what mattered most. But as she walked, her steps slowed, the impossibility of what she was seeing getting to her so that she stopped and stared. “Carter? Is that you?”
The second Carter heard her voice he wanted to bolt. His friend was in front of him, not only that but a friend that had surely lost their trust in him. Afraid of what would happen Carter stood still staring at the ground in front of him. “I uh... yeah. I’m still Carter. Well. Kind of.”
i-will-just-keep-swimming:
Dory wandered the halls of the newly rebuilt castle. She’d long forgotten exactly where she was going, but she trusted her feet enough to get her somewhere. And maybe that somewhere had people who knew where it was she needed to be. Or it would have something else interesting, and that was ok too. Or maybe there’d be… a ghost! Dory couldn’t remember having seen that ghost around before. Maybe he was new. “Alright I wont,” Dory said, bounding up to him and stopping short maybe a little too close. “Hi there!”
Carter was surprised by the girl’s enthusiasm she was so happy and chipper all while around a murderer. Either she was delirious or she had no clue who he was and maybe it was best that way. “Are you feeling uh... are you feeling alright?” He asked.
theres-good-noose-tonight:
“Oh, now this is a beautiful opportunity.” Clark watched as Carter’s ghost floated in front of him, a wicked glint in his eyes. “The murderer, back from the grave. Tell me, does the remorse fade when only a spirit remains, or wasn’t there any to begin with, hm?”
“I... I’m not a uh, a murderer.” He said refusing to look in his eyes. Of course he was a murderer. That is why he had killed himself in the first place. But it all really was self defense, and Carter regretted every bit of it.
misunderstood-badboy:
Marco wasn’t supposed to be at the castle – at least, that’s what he thought. School didn’t start for another couple of weeks, but he wanted to get a good grip on the layout. He also wanted a chance to talk to his professors beforehand, hoping that he wouldn’t get in too much trouble. The teen hugged himself, feeling anxious and ready to leave – but, he wasn’t even sure how to get out. This was a bad idea. As he saw another person, he froze. His body turned to ice when he realized the person was transparent. He nearly shattered when the person noticed and talked to him. The only thing he could do was let out a struggled ‘meep’.
Carter hadn’t meant to frighten the boy, but he wasn’t really sure how to fix it either. “I uh... Please don’t be scared. I didn’t mean to uh, I just... I didn’t uh mean to scare you.” Carter looked away unable to keep eye contact. Becoming a ghost had made Carter more nervous, especially around all these students. This year was going to be a nightmare. “Just uh... I’ll go this way I uh... Sorry.”
Carter snuck around the halls of Hogwarts. He wasn’t supposed to be here, but really neither was anyone else. It had been nearly two months since he had been around these halls, and it didn’t feel good to be back. Not knowing that he was considered a killer among the students here. “I’m uh... I’m sorry!” He said noticing someone watching him, surely afraid of the boy who was now a ghost. “Please don’t uh... Please don’t tell anyone I’m uh... I’m here.”
fairytale-hogwarts:
Carter Quik - Carpet, Aladdin
Muggle Born || 18 Years Old || Ex-Ravenclaw || Ghost || Taken
Some people may think that they are invisible at this school, but Carter takes it to a whole new level. You see, Carter has always been really shy. He doesn’t have many friends because a lot of people think he’s weird. He tends to keep to himself and watch as everyone else lives their lives. Despite being real quiet, he’s quite smart and excels at his classes. He’s the type who has never had a girlfriend. He’s just bad at talking to people so instead he just watches them, which is usually considered as creepy.
Half the time people don’t even notice him staring because he happens to be the owner of an invisibility cloak. He knows that if anyone were to find out, especially the headmaster, they would confiscate it from him. It’s not like he uses it to stare at girls or anything… it’s just that sometimes he wants to observe without being observed.
Carter is never noticed, even if he’s left his cloak in his dorm. Because of this, there isn’t a thing that goes on in Hogwarts that he doesn’t know about. Think Gossip Girl is informed? She wishes Carter was on her payroll. As awkward as he is though, Carter genuinely wants to be apart of the gossip worthy events he witnesses. If he could just get over his crippling shyness, he might actually surprise people with his hilarious jokes and sweet disposition.
After:
Carter had always wanted to be noticed, after spying on his fellow students, nearly winning the Tri-Wizard tournament, and making friends. His decision to partner with a murderous girl he was afraid of, named Doris, resulted in him using the Avada Kedavra curse on her. In the end, the guilt of killing her resulted in him committing suicide with his invisibility cloak. Inevitably, Carter was blamed both for Doris’s murder as well as for the murder of Tommy.
The Choice:
Carter died before Margo could get him to make his choice, so now his spirit is trapped in the wizarding world.
Updated Ghost Bio:
After his death, Carter left many things unsolved. Returning as a ghost, Carter regretted taking his own life. If only he hadn’t killed himself, he would have been able to clear his name. But now word has spread and even been confirmed by aurors who felt this case was as easy closed as it was opened. Now in a castle where he is seen as a murderer, Carter must try to clear his name. The problem is, Carter is now a known killer in the public’s eye, not only that but he is a killer of students in a school full of students. In hiding, Carter only wishes he could be a part of things even more, feeling even more invisible than he ever was before. Will he ever be noticed again?
Carter looks a lot like Iwan Rheon
