louis watches their every move and can feel himself going week in the knees; not because he’s faint or anything, but because he’s so enamored with nix. everything that they do is so gentle and it makes him feel SAFE. holding up the sparkling bandaid to the light and wiping a stray tear with the back of his hand, he nods and smiles to them (pecking their cheek as he walks past and goes to sit cross-legged in the floor by the tortoise). reaching over to pet styx, he admires the other from this angle and perks up when he hears their sweet voice. “i don’t mind. you can ask me whatever you’d like to.” louis responds, tone soft as he fades out a little (trying to remember things as clearly as he can, time not having been kind to some of the things he’d almost tried to forget). “i was turned in 1791. i was 25 at the time. so, it’s been a while.”
a soft blush appears on nix’s cheek from the kiss. there’s a quick recurring thought of what it might be like to really kiss louis, but nix carefully avoids thinking on that too much. “so it’s been quite a long time...do you ever miss the sunlight? i think i would miss sunlight.” their voice gentle as they speak. half their attention is on the potion while the other half is on louis. it’s nice having him around. between him and styx being there in the little shop nix is the happiest they’ve ever been. they thought it wouldn’t get better when they first opened the shop with styx but somehow louis has come in and made it better.
