I've seen some people think that the book in the new kh4 trailer is the book of prophecies. While that's understandable, there might be something else going on.

The one on the right seemingly has a chess board pattern and an hourglass. Which calls to mind a particular character motif

Considering Mickey is supposedly in Scala, could this be a trap xehanort set up at some point? Maybe there's information in the book he wanted to protect?

Maybe it’s been said before, but you know how Sora in every main title is reset back to level 1 in a way that narratively makes sense?

I think Sora having hazy memories will be a thing, so much so that he struggles to even remember Donald and Goofy. When he sees them in a vision in the KH4 trailer, he promptly faints like many other characters before when they’re plagued by memory visions.

So in order to achieve his goals of going back home and helping his friends, Sora has to remember his true memories. Things that were long buried in his heart. That’s how he’ll unlock his previous abilities.

And this would make it ideal for newcomers to the kh series to gain context of past events alongside Sora!

it's always weird to me how people treat the mobile games as like this uniquely "too far" thing for KH to treat with importance, when like... it's just what handheld kh has always been like?? They have always used the handheld side-titles to introduce new characters, themes and story beats that then get resolved or progressed in the Big Numbered Title. Like this isn't new at all??? This is how KH has always been, and how it has always functioned. The only reason these titles are on mobile is because there isn't really dedicated handheld consoles anymore, but the ethos is the same. KH is the same. Every title and character is important. Always has been and always will be.
