Since I'm still trying to find the perfect bar of commercially available chocolate, I've decided to document my progress. The first bar was a Johnny Doodle that I bought in the Netherlands. The chocolate is both direct trade and utz certified. The paper has a nice solid feel to it and the bar then is wrapped in aluminium foil. The chocolate is a dark chocolate with granola and dried cranberries spread over the bar. The chocolate has a nice bite and while not a milk chocolate it melts smoothly and evenly. The granola is a nice contrast in its crunchyness and the cranberries work to enhance the cocoa flavour of the bar. This bar weighs 180gr and cost €2,69 at Albert Heijn. A total 4 out of 5 🌟 because the thickness of the bar and the impression of the Johnny Doodle on the back of the bar make it difficult to break into pieces and rather force the chocolate to be chewed through.
