So with making Harry the dad would they have had a drunken hook up?? Or how would that work since they were strictly bffs that early on in the first one
this is probably going to be a longer answer than you were expecting LMAO ok here it goes. i actually have a tiiiny tiny tiny bit of this written, but now i think it’d play out differently than i thought; i’ve had the idea that if i rewrote sits i’d write harry as tristan’s biological father for a long time now.
so, in the Actual Sits, the morning after harry’s birthday rorie flies to vegas for a swim competition two weeks early for training and the birthday of one of her teammates. i didn’t really portray this in the story, but in my mind they had already been close to confessing their feelings for one another at this point. rorie shutting harry out after getting pregnant off a one night stand threw this way off course.
now, in my hypothetical rewrite that’s never gonna happen, i’d start the story with an alcohol fueled confession of love/attraction/messy stuff the night of harry’s birthday. harry asks rorie to stay and one thing leads to another... rorie would spend the night at harry’s and fly to vegas the next morning. they don’t lose contact while she’s gone, but things are different than they had been during their friendship. they both feel the shift but are scared to address it through the phone. so, rorie is in vegas for a month for her swim competition (i figure she gets there two weeks before the event, the event is about two weeks). by the time she’s back in london she’s had a missed period and is freaking out. harry is trying to get her to meet up so they can talk about the sexy times and wanting to be in a relationship, rorie is dodging and is scared to take a pregnancy test. but then she does. and obviously she has to tell harry what’s going on (whereas in Actual Sits she hides from him until she knew she was pregnant for a few months). she plays it off like “this shouldn’t change things, i can’t lose you as a friend” and harry’s like “:( yeah, our friendship is more important than anything” but they both love each other!!! there’s probably less of a fight about rorie moving in with harry, but from there the structure and slow burn is pretty similar.
