Ángel Pagán robs Matt Kemp of a home run - September 11, 2015
He’s so dreamy.
True story: I went to see the Giants at Wrigley this year, and there was a woman there with her Pagan Fan stuff on: jersey, orange halo. This was not a girl or a kid; this was a woman in her thirties, average looking, with glasses, there with her husband.
And the way that Wrigley sets it up, there’s a kid’s corral out on the field by homeplate during batting practice and many players will come over before or after their BP to sign, but as an adult it’s much more difficult to get an autograph, because the kids’ corral blocks most of the area where players and fans interact. And no adults, not even parents, are allowed in the kids’ corral.
So this woman is standing about seven or eight rows back watching BP and clapping for Angel when he comes out of the cage. She knows that, as a grown woman, there’s no chance of her getting close enough, so she’s just standing back and enjoying the view and hoping that maybe he’ll wave to her or something.
Angel comes over to the kids’ corral and signs some things for kids, and then he looks up and points at this fan and waves. And she waves back and is basically the happiest person on earth.
And then Angel gestures for her to come down.
He gestures for her to come down, and makes the ushers let her into the kids’ corral, and hugs her and signs her jersey and poses for a bunch of pictures with her that her husband takes, and talks to her, and she come back to the eighth row grinning like a fool and when I say to her “oh my God, that was AWESOME!” she bursts into tears of joy and says “Angel Pagan hugged me!”
I’ve always liked Angel -- he seems like a good guy, a passionate player, a good teammate, and he’s hot as fuck --but that moment right there? Made me love Angel. Because he saw that woman (not a little kid, not a hottie in short shorts, a middle-aged normal looking woman) representing for him, and he took a moment to appreciate her. She went above and beyond for him, and he returned the favor.
By the way, she said he smells good, too.

It doesn't occur to Ryan until he sees the line-up. Batting eighth and catching. Stewart.
(...this one is...pretty smutty. You have been warned.)

It is a truth universally understood, but hardly acknowledged, that Angel Pagan is the best cuddler on the team, which is why Crawford angles to sit next to him on the flight back from New York.
Recently, I’ve been having inexplicable sex dreams about Angel Pagan.
...or maybe “inexplicable” isn’t the word I’m looking for.

Ryan Vogelsong goes to Houston, and then doesn’t go to Houston. Part of the Not The Prettiest Game series.
Joey Fatone is performing at Rock of Ages and hung out to have breakfast with the Zoo and some friends. In the interview, he is asked about: (X)
NSYNC’s cover of “More than a Feeling”
Which song he’s not particularly proud of (Spoiler alert: “I Need Love”)
His “Family Feud” recorded intro
Hotel aliases to avoid crazed fans
Former member of NSYNC, Jason
His cameo in “Jersey Shore Shark Attack”
Guest appearance on “Impractical Jokers”
His friendship with Luis Fonsi
Favorite NSYNC song (You should already know this)
Most memorable gig after NSYNC
Weirdest NSYNC memorabilia that he keeps in storage
His female wrestling pal, ODB
I NEED LOVE IS THE BEST FUCKING NSYNC SONG. PERIOD. BITE ME, FATONE.
...we all really need love, tho...
I love it when I guess right.
This is what I said about Chris Stewart in a fictional story in 2012:
"Different guys need different things," Chris says. His voice is sharp, clipped, like he can't believe he has to explain this. "Wilson needs to be yelled at. Timmy needs to be brought into focus. Sanchez needs to be calmed down, Bumgarner needs to be stirred up. You're all crazy in different ways," Chris says, smiling to soften his words, "so you all need different things."
And this is what he said about himself the other day, at Pirates spring training:
"I've been more on the mental side," Stewart said. "How to talk to certain guys, what guys have to be calmed down, guys you have to kick in the butt to get going, what they like to do with runners on. Their go-to pitches, their two-strike pitches … ins and outs of handling different guys."
Most Adorable Post EVER.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Ryan Vogelsong is more than a pitcher. He is a Giant through and through. Vogelsong, a free agent, isn't yet officially an ex-Giant. But the two-year contract that Jake Peavy received gave the Giants a full complement of starting pitchers and likely will squeeze out Vogelsong -- who, according to those who know him closely, maintained hopes of spending the rest of his career with the club. Obviously, such sentiments cannot be allowed to determine personnel moves. If Brian Sabean believed the Giants are better off without Vogelsong, it's difficult to argue with the general manager who engineered three World Series triumphs in five seasons.
YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH, CHRIS HAFT!
I've said it before, but Michael Morse is a treasure. I will miss him immensely.
"I am extremely grateful that Major League Baseball has always judged me on my work and nothing else," he says. A photo with his husband in a small magazine was his first public acknowledgment.
Good for you, Dale Scott! You go, Dale Scott!
I know that people will say "oh, what's the big deal? Why do we care who he sleeps with?" We care, because the default assumption in our culture is that people are straight. Dale Scott could have let every fan and every aspiring umpire think he was straight forever. Instead, he let everyone know that you can be gay and be a successful umpire. In a profession that had literally NO gay role models, now we have one. So, good for you, Dale Scott, and good for us.
(Next up, why aren't there any female umpires, MLB? Fix that shit.)
But why is Kontos so perfect!
Wait...Chapstick isn't lip gloss?
Getting madder about the Sandoval situation with every new rumor. Obviously they should have just given him the 5/90 offer he wanted in spring and that isn’t enough now, because: 1) They have nothing on the farm (sorry Adam Duvall) 2) There is nothing on the free agent market this winter (and...
Yeah, I don't agree. I mean, I agree that I hope the Panda stays, and I agree that he should be paid, but if he's looking for big money + years, I think he should go elsewhere. He deserves somewhere around the Pence contract 5/90 or 6/95, but if that's not what he's thinking (which it sounds like it's not), then I hope the Giants don't pay it.
I love Sandoval, but he is streaky, both in his hitting and in his conditioning, and I would rather see the Giants try to make do without him in the line-up than end up massively overpaying him. I value him and Pence about the same and would expect them to end up being paid about the same. Too much more than that is a mistake, given that we've got rotation needs, and Crawford and Belt are going to need to be paid in the next few years.
