it’s AWESOME to see Richtor x Annette fans. Their love and how it portrayed and moved the plot of season 2 of Castlevania Nocturne was so good. I really need to rewatch and take 100+ more screenshots of them.

do you have any annette/richter fic you would recommend? What are your thoughts on their relationship? What parts of their characters do you want to see more explored in season 3?

I usually just go onto AO3 and stalk the Richter and Annette tag for any fics, so whatever you find there will be great to read!

When it comes to their relationship, I loved how the show established their attraction to each other in the first season because it was subtle but obvious, especially if you focus more on Richter during his scenes with Annette. He would always be watching her and his expressions when it came to her gave a schoolboy with a crush. With Annette, even when she was pissed with him she grew to understand him and form her own attraction to him which showed the best in the last few episodes of season 1 and carried on into season 2. I just love how protective and sweet Richter is to Annette and how he acknowledges her strength but also will be the first to support her by either fighting with her or grounding her, as he did when Annette went into the spirit realm to find Sekhmet. I love how Annette holds space for Richter and is also just as protective of him, they’re just so balanced as a couple and I adore them.

In season 3 I’m very interested to see how Richter is going to navigate living in Saint-Domingue with Annette and how they build onto their bond while they’re there. I would love seeing Annette build on her connections with her ancestors and how it would possibly expand her creativity with her powers and the weapons she can form in combat.

Castlevania Nocturne

It's not lost on me that Annette and Richtor are a peaceful fandom after S2.

The writers were smart to give the mlm fans Olrox and Mizrak. We weren't bombarded with Richtor should be with this and that instead of with the black woman in this show.

It's also not lost on me that the canon mlm pair in Nocturne wasn't given the A-tier treatment that other mlm ships are given and that's most likely because both men in that pair are not pale white and are poc.

Maria also being young and basically being Richtor's sister cancels out a white replacement woman ship as well.

Plus, there is a doomed yuri/flf ship as well in this series.

Yeah, shout out to the writers and the staff for cracking the code on how to deliver a peaceful ship with a black woman lead. There was no disposable black woman girlfriend and we cheered for that reason alone.

I hope other writers in the future take notes from Castlevania Nocturne on how to handle black characters.

i really thought we were on the verge of putting the bad takes on richette behind us and leaving that shit in 2023 but i forget that tiktok is the place where bad fandom takes thrive. and it's not like they're saying anything new or interesting.

for the last time, richette isn't rushed. they literally get together in the season finale of season two. their dynamic was built and developed. it's not exactly a slow burn neither an insta-love so idk what ppl are really talking about. and to say annette is a manic pixie dream girl over richter (which is crazyyyyyy) just tells me you really weren't paying attention to anything in the show because if anything, that man is the one who has screws loose over her. to call richter a white savior is also very disingenuous, and in my opinion insulting to annette and her writers who specifically spoke about how they took their time to develop her. it's extremely valid to have concerns about how they get together given annette's backstory as being formerly enslaved, but let's not make up shit that wasn't there. one moment where his voice brings her back from the brink and he locks in to fight, and you're saying she was sidelined? like, the whole reason erzsebet and drolta were defeated was because of annette. that victory wouldn't have happened without her and that was explicitly shown! her fight with ammit, the guardian of sekhmet's temple is a feat in and of itself. richter dealing the finishing blow and standing in front of annette when she comes back into her body makes sense given the fact he just watched her give her all and almost die??? he loves her and was worried about her the entire time, it's natural behaviour to do something like that? it's also him saying, 'you've done enough and im grateful and thankful and seeing you alive is all that matters so let me finish this so you can properly rest.'

Hello everyone 👋🏾 just wanna say a few things real quick. First, my names Evie. I’ve been writing since I was a child, it’s basically my therapy.

I will eventually organize this blog but as y’all (omg there are 10 of y’all, hi!!!) can see it’s really just starting out so it’s very chaotic.

I have lots of ideas but very little time so I feel like if I do put out fics they might come a little slow (this does not apply to Richette rn because I’m hyper fixated on them) but I have plans and ideas that I hope to bring to fruition this year.

I’m not on Twitter or Insta but I do have an A03 account and when I make a master list (coming this weekend maybe) it will of course be linked. I also definitely plan to go back through my first two fics and link stuff while doing some clean up (this weekend for sure).

My inbox will usually always be open, request are welcomed but might not always get gotten to.
