you've nailed it. these writers are covering their asses and say they're punishing louis because of whatever reason: because "louis is a pimp who doesn't care about csa" even though that's bullshit. louis was the one who out of everyone (not white saviors like daniel or lestat), who showed the most consideration for armand's past with csa.

rolin also said that he wanted to punish louis for hanging up that dress in dubai, what the hell is he talking about? when is a character grieving and memorializing his daughter something that deserves punishment? why is louclaudia getting reduced so that claudia is resurrected to praise lestat, their white abuser?

right away i detected bullshit because these reasons don't make sense and writers don't truly care about claudia or armand either with their screentime reduced and characterization getting butchered too. rolin and writers did this because they wanted any excuse to "humble" louis and isolate him. this means devaluing and ruining all of his relationships, with claudia, daniel, doing all that shit to loumand (the only main romance between two poc besides loumel and writers also treated lemuel as "disposable black gf") all because they have already admitted that they wanted louis to be at his lowest, so he has no choice but to return to lestat.

rolin resented that louis was the protagonist for two seasons and the black lead that the viewers connected with. as long as louis' pain and suffering is validated, lestat the favored white character has to be held accountable for abusing him. they instead chose to scrub all that away, degrade louis as the villain who should be "grateful" that only lestat knows how to love him 🙄 and even brought back paul's ghost (famous lestat hater) to be rolin's mouthpiece for this nonsense.
