Koda of course had no patience to wait around, after barely an hour he had grown impatient and gone out looking for the faerie. Luckily the faerie found him before he could cause too much of a stink. It only took him about .3 seconds to spy what was his gift, it wasn’t like it was teeny tiny. Grinning like crazy as he scrambling up onto the bed to get his hands on it, dragging the huge stuffie into his lap and smoothing out the shaggy mane that was nearly the same color as his hair. “I’m still mad at you for making me worry.”

Gideon’s smile warmed and grew into an outright grin as he watched Koda all but tackle the huge stuffed lion, glad that the gift had been received as he’d hoped. Of course he hadn’t expected to lessen the brat in his boy and true to expectation, Koda pouted up at him. “I know, and I’m sorry, my sweet little cub. Maybe I have something else that can make it up to you though,” he said as he pushed off from the door frame and moved into the room fully. Gideon knew he had to move quickly as always to get what he wanted so by the time he’d shifted a knee up onto the bed his hand was already around the back of his boy’s neck as he pulled him into a kiss, tongue forcing past surprised lips to deepen it for full effect.

Koda did not appreciate the silence, because he knew it was a trick of some kind, the faerie hiding something. Eyes narrowing some at him before he untangled himself from the faerie and headed off to the bedroom so he could find his gift.

Gideon only smiled in response to the look Koda tossed him and he followed behind his boy into their bedroom. His smirk was still in place as he leaned against the door frame, arms crossing over his chest. Of course he’d come home expecting to find Koda there but when he hadn’t, he’d left the surprise on the bed. “Well?” he asked.

Would you ever take a second claim?

If you’re asking me that, you clearly haven’t met Koda. He’s quite the hand full. Or ten. Still, I never say never. It would have to be something he wanted as well though, of course.

Koda was about to protest, loudly, at Gideon pulling away. Lucky enough for him, he took the human’s hand before he could start. Letting out a small huff as he continued to walk. Koda didn’t even pretend anymore he wasn’t one of the biggest brats here, as if Gideon didn’t know damn well what he was getting himself into when he started this. “Oh? He questioned glancing back towards him, eyes narrowing some as he tried to figure it out. “What do you have?”

Gideon shrugged at the question, a small smirk playing on his lips. He didn’t want to give anything away just yet. He’d been away on Galewood business, but that didn’t mean he didn’t have time to take care of some things on his own agenda. Instead of responding, he pushed the door to their home open and tugged Koda inside. “Go check the bed, little one,” he said as he brought his boy’s hand to his mouth to press a kiss to his fingers before dropping the hold.

“Better not, or I’ll kick your ass.” He muttered as he grabbed hold of his wrist and started dragging him back towards their home. Because he didn’t care if the bed or any other piece of furniture missed them, he had missed Gideon and he wanted to be home where it was just them. “Shut up, I’ll do it. I’ll get a witch to enchant it so you can’t get it off.”

Gideon only rolled his eyes at Koda’s words, not bothering to respond as he let himself be dragged forward. His boy was such a bossy brat, but he couldn’t even try to deny how in love with it he was. After a moment, he tugged free of the hold on his wrist in favor of slipping his hand down into Koda’s lacing their fingers together. Gideon wasn’t exactly known for being overly affectionate, at least not to the public eye, but in the moment, he couldn’t be bothered to care. “Oh, yes, I’m so worried,” he hummed out as he shot Koda a look. “But now that you mention enchantments, I may not have returned as empty handed as I appear.”

Part of him felt dumb he worried so much, but at least the faerie didn’t point it out, that he was openly worrying. “What are you going to do, haunt me in a ghostly form?” He snorted a little as he leaned into the touch, glad Gideon was well. “You better not, or you’ll be chained to the bed.”

Gideon chuckled lightly at Koda’s words and shook his head. “Hopefully, you’ll never have to find out,” he responded as his thumb ran over his boy’s cheek. He smiled at the way his light leaned into the touch, fighting the urge to close his eyes at how good it felt because, Gods, he’d missed Koda more than words could express. He’d done more than his own share of worrying, but he didn’t see a reason to let that on. No doubt his boy knew it anyways. “Is that so, brat? Speaking of our bed though, I think it misses us both.”

“You don’t get to do that again, I thought you were dead.”

Gideon dipped his head just a little. It was true he should have communicated better, but everything had happened all at once and he’d had to act. “As if even death could take me from you,” he said as he reached up to cup Koda’s cheek. “I’m sorry, my sweet little cub. I won’t disappear like that again, you have my word.”

“Has anyone seen a faerie around? Not like, tinkerbell fuck head, like, my totally not able to be found master?”

“Perhaps you haven’t been looking hard enough,” Gideon said as he approached Koda.

He gave him a look at the mention of what a kiss would do. Glancing away then and settling into his blanket on the couch, all tucked in except for where he was peaking out. Frowning as he heard the faerie’s words. “You’re kidding..” He spoke, but it was clear the other wasn’t joking, not at all. “Cowards. Let them leave, thin the heard and hopefully they get captured and killed on their way out. Is it anyone I know?”

Gideon shook his head to make it clear that he wasn’t joking. Honestly, he was surprised and more than a little pissed to discover people had ducked and ran at the first signs of danger but as his boy voiced, it was probably for the best. He paused at the question and let out a sigh. “I know that your friend Jasper was among those that have been spotted escaping. There’s just too much going on up there for anyone to chase them down. Not that I see a point in it.”

“Oh shush.” He grumbled, his grumpiness still just as evident. He wished he could smack Gideon some days, as if it would knock sense into him and make him realize that these kisses he craved were deadly, would literally kill him. Eyes watching him quietly as the faerie reassured him, all was well now. And it was, until the next time the faerie went up to the surface to fight again. “How bad is it up there? Are people..  are our people winning?”

“A kiss would shut me up,” Gideon pointed out. He knew Koda hated how he pushed the subject though so he let it die after that. Soon--and sooner than his boy could know--it wouldn’t be an issue anymore. If this whole siege business hadn’t sprung up, they would already be there. He glanced away at the questions for a moment, trying to figure out how to explain it. “We are holding our own....But there are a handful of our people that are...Well, they’re deserting. Using the cover of the fight to run away.”

Koda glared, looking like the crankiest little cub in all the land at Gideon’s threat to go back out. “I will literally break your legs myself if you make me.” His words were certainly not as empty of intention, he was willing to take drastic measures to keep the faerie here and safe and not out there exhausting himself just to prove a point. Letting out a huff as he shifted where he was curled up. “No, I’m better now, but you don’t know what it’s like being here while you..  you’re out there with them.”

“Oh yeah? You can do whatever you like so long as you promise to kiss me when you’re done,” Gideon replied. He was trying to tease to lighten the mood but his words weren’t completely just for a smile. Even for as dangerous as it was he craved Koda’s lips and especially after everything he’d just pushed though he wanted it. He let out a soft sound and ducked his head a little at his boy’s words, wanting to touch him but not wanting to risk dirtying the blanket or his cub. “But I’m here now, baby. All in one piece too. You know I didn’t want to leave you down here but...” But this threat was real and there was no way he wouldn’t do everything in his power to keep Koda safe.

Koda hated that Gideon had went up there. He couldn’t go up, despite his gift of death, it required him to get too close and it was too much of a risk of injury. So he stayed behind, annoyed and worrying himself into some grey hairs. He ended up in their room, fussing with a blanket that Gideon had thankfully brought from their home, curled up in it and trying not to be incredibly grumpy about being all by himself. Glancing up when the door opened and let out a small sigh of relief seeing the faerie there in one piece. “There you are, stubborn ass jerk.”

Gideon wasn’t surprised to find Koda curled up underneath the favorite blanket that he’d remembered to snag from their cabin. He also wasn’t too shocked at the attitude, even if a brow did arch at the words as he closed the door behind himself. Moving inside he began to tug his jacket off, trying not to think about how it could be ruined now. “You know, I thought you’d be glad to see me but if that’s not the case, I can always volunteer to go back out.” The words were empty of any real intention though and he shifted over to the bed, sitting down next to his boy. “Are you okay, little one?” Gideon asked, his voice softening as he looked down into Koda’s gorgeous eyes.

Gideon normally wasn’t the type to go to war, preferring subterfuge and much smaller clashes instead, but he hadn’t backed down when he’d been asked to fight. Because he had something, someone, to fight for and protect. And he would do anything for Koda. Above ground had been much as he’d expected, but it had allowed him to unleash some of his nastier black magic which had greatly reduced his need for anything physical. Still, he made his way back down into the bunker with a few cuts and scrapes, nothing major despite what the blood all over him may have implied.

Not bothering to clean up, Gideon made a beeline for Koda. The ring on his finger that matched his boy’s collar acting as a magical homing device of sorts and it lead him straight to him. He pushed the door open and let out a sigh of relief, instantly feeling better now that his eyes were on Koda who was safe and sound still. “There you are, my sweet little cub,” he hummed out as he stepped into the room.

Koda grit his teeth, annoyed at the reminder of a real punishment. Not something he wanted as it generally involved him getting ignored until he decided to give in and apologize. And there was nothing he hated more than being blatantly ignored. He opened his mouth to protest the mention of not being allowed to have his tail and nearly bit his tongue in an attempt to stop the noise that was spanked out of him. “Don’t take my tail..”

Gideon paused the licks, opting instead to smooth over Koda’s ass and soothe the heat he could feel as a result of the spanking. He knew his boy could take it--and a lot more--and did all the time when they played, but he didn’t have intentions of actually taking it further here on the spot. Unless Koda asked for it of course. The words that reached his ears and the sound, the tone tugged at Gideon’s heart. He couldn’t deny that. But he also wasn’t going to give in. “Tell me the truth and I won’t have to. You know I don’t like punishing you, little one. But I will.”

The hits had his ass hot and stinging and he could only imagine how red it was getting. “Yep.” He replied tightly, because wasn’t it just better to admit he just tossed death threats around like confetti than admit anything had gotten under his skin. He was too old to be getting his feathers ruffled by some stupid super who thought he ruled the world. “He insulted my pants.” A lie, but maybe Gideon would buy it.

Gideon knew full and well that Koda was stubborn. It was one of the many things he loved about his boy. It was also one of the frustrating things about him in times such as this. If it really wasn’t a big deal, his boy should have had no problems in spitting it out so either it was something or he was just really stuck on being a brat today. Both were equally as likely. “Lying will earn you an actual punishment, Koda,” he reminded him in an even tone. “And boys that get punished don’t get tails.” Gideon delivered another smack to the bright red skin, a part of him unable to deny that he loved seeing the way his handprints were starting to stand out on the perfect pale flesh.

Koda jerked, biting at his lip to try and muffle the sound a little better when the hand came down again. Of course, it came down harder however and made it all the more difficult to muffle when he was expecting it to have matched the intensity of the first. Hands finding places to grab, one even grabbing at Gideon’s pant leg, fingers twisting in the material and doing his best to not look at the on lookers. “I think you’re being ridiculous over something that was nothing.” He hissed lowly.

Gideon knew that Koda was trying to hold back and fight this, pretend that he wasn’t loving it. But he knew his boy better than that and he picked up on the sounds that he tried to hold in, the fingers grasping at his pants giving his light away. “So you make death threats over nothing now?” he asked. But before Koda could answer, he landed two more hits, knowing his boy’s ass was stinging in the wake of his hand by now. “Tell me what I want to know and I promise to make this even better for you, my sweet little cub.”

His head cocked to the side, did he not know what Patch was yet? Black magic was pretty much how he survived, but he remained quiet, listening to the other with patience, and interest of course as his eyebrows lifted ever so slightly. “And what is the cost of this healing and regeneration?”

Of course Gideon was aware that Patch was a demon and that he too possessed black magic. It was still a bit different than his own. The other Super had been created and born with it. His had been learned, some of his own white magic twisting and bending until it was dirty. He shrugged lightly at the question. “Side effects,” he stated casually. “Nothing life threatening as I would think that would defeat the whole purpose, but as for specifics...Well, it affects everyone differently so I can’t say for sure. You know how unpredictable it can be.”
