Vulnerable but Hopecore post (shoutout to the whopping 5 that tune in when I yap 💀 /lh), since the new year is just around the corner.

Started putting in the elbow grease to double-down on fighting my depression, kicking bad habits, and rekindling my passion for art, which I really feel like I've lost over time (could also be Art School Burnout).

I recently got an official PTSD diagnosis after starting a new form of therapy. Had a hangover bad enough to shock me sober. Reached out to a bunch of people I lost touch with when I started isolating bad. Kinda like when a dog goes off alone to find a place to die all quiet-like. I've been sinking in tar for a loooooooong time.

But I've got a good thing going with a sweet gal that means the absolute world to me and deserves a partner she can depend on.

For the first time in my life I live in a town with more rainbow flags than Confederate flags. My girl and I can kiss in public without fear. Half my classmates are trans, local doctors are happy to give you HRT, and my therapist is a they/them sapphic, just like me.

This is the year I distance myself from the toxic mother who gave me PTSD in the first place.

I've got a ko-fi and a bluesky that need attention. And a BILLION bits of fanart/AUs/art trades/doodles of other's ocs/asks to answer/requests that I always meant to do. But was just too damn miserable to pick up a pen.

I've got the coolest mutuals and followers and artists that I look up to, folk I really wanna get to know! Folk I wish I've been fostering friendships and experiencing the joys of creativity with this whooooole time.

I'm yappin', but a good buddy once told me: "The opposite of addiction is connection."

I'm choosing healing and joy from now on.

I deserve to be me - fat, trans and happy 🏳️‍⚧️💗
